Kirkland, a 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive lineman, was first offered by Tennessee on June 26, 2020, when Jeremy Pruitt was the Vols’ head coach.
Josh Heupel was hired as Tennessee’s head coach on Jan. 27, replacing Pruitt who was relieved of his duties.
Kirkland has Southeastern Conference offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
The Vols currently do not have a commitment for its 2022 or 2023 recruiting classes.
