Jake Paul left no doubt.

Through 17 minutes and 11 seconds on Saturday, the boxing rematch between Paul and Tyron Woodley resembled the first fight, with little offense from both men.

And then: BOOM.

Paul found a moment in which he faked low and then went high, landing a thunderous overhand right hand to Woodley’s face that sent the former UFC welterweight champion’s stiff body crashing face first to the canvas at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.

Just like that it was over: Paul by knockout at the 2:12 mark of Round 6.

Watch the finish below (via Twitter):

“I told you I was gonna f*ck him up, and I f*cked him up!” Paul proclaimed afterward.

Paul was up on all three judges’ scorecards 49-46, 48-47, 49-46 in the fight that was scheduled for eight rounds.

Paul originally was supposed to fight Tommy Fury, who pulled out two weeks ago because of injury. That’s when Woodley stepped in to take the rematch he had long been campaigning for ever since losing a split decision in their first bout this past August.

Before they meet inside the boxing ring again, former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul came face-to-face on Friday evening.

In the final moments of the ceremonial weigh-ins in at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Fla., Paul and Woodley got up close and personal once again as they had an intense exchange of words.

The faceoff was the last time the fighters see each other eye-to-eye before stepping inside the ring on Saturday evening.

Check out video of the intense staredown below (via Showtime Boxing on Twitter):

“Thank you for bringing the dog out of me,” Woodley said immediately after the stare down. “Tomorrow we battle. Eat well, rest well. It’s gonna be a f—-n’ fight tomorrow night.”

“It’s f—-n’ go-mode,” Paul said in response. “A different Jake Paul you’re gonna to see this time. We’re f—-n’ buckin’ in the middle of the ring. No funny s—. No funny s— like last time, I’m f—–g him up!”

Paul vs. Woodley 2 airs on Showtime pay-per-view Saturday evening, and features a number of intriguing matchups including a high-level women’s matchup between Amanda Serrano and Miriam Gutierrez, and a matchup between former NBA star Deron Williams and former NFL running back Frank Gore.

Jake Paul copied Floyd Mayweather by wearing ski mask to press conference

Jake Paul copied Floyd Mayweather by wearing a ski mask to his press conference.

Editor’s note: This article was originally published at MMAJunkie.com.

Jake Paul showed up to Thursday’s news conference for his rematch with Tyron Woodley wearing a ski mask, which he no doubt thought was cool and made a statement, but there was just one problem: It was unoriginal.

“I thought to myself it’s funny how these ‘professionals’ like Tommy Fury – who’s considered a professional boxer – gets sick, breaks a rib and doesn’t want to fight,” Paul told reporters. “I’ve fought sick, I’ve fought hurt. You’ve got to go in there and get the job done. And then they’re like, ‘Oh, you’ve got Tyron Woodley now.’ No problem.

“That’s why I’ve got the ski mask on. They’re gonna give me a big bag to go and beat the guy I already beat? This is a bank robbery.”

Cool, but Floyd Mayweather did it first.

When Mayweather fought Conor McGregor back in 2017 in the original boxer vs. MMA fighter boxing match, Mayweather walked out to the ring in a ski mask, looking like this:

Aug 26, 2017; Las Vegas: Floyd Mayweather enters the ring prior to his fight against Conor McGregor. (Mark J. Rebilas, USA TODAY Sports)

Nobody knew why at the time. It wasn’t until a few days after the fight, which Mayweather won by 10th-round TKO and earned him a reported $275 million, that we found out the reason from boxing coach and longtime friend, Angelo Reyes (via MMA Weekly):

“To us in the boxing culture, we were kind of laughing about it because it’s Floyd Mayweather’s ode to the movie ‘Dead Presidents,’ where he put the ski mask on because it’s a bank robbery. Basically he was saying it was a heist. Like Conor actually believed he could beat Floyd Mayweather and all that happened was he got fooled into the biggest pay-per-view, the biggest payday opportunity of all time. That’s why he put on the ski mask, which I thought was pretty awesome.”

So there you go. The ski-mask thing was done before, and it was with hundreds of millions of dollars being made by Mayweather in a much easier fight against McGregor than what Paul faces in a rematch with Woodley after winning a prior split decision. That really was a bank robbery.

Next time, Paul will have to come up with something on his own.

Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley II: date, time, how to watch, background

Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley II: date, time, how to watch, background.

Jake Paul will face tyron woodley in a rematch saturday in tampa, Florida, on pay-per-view.

Jake Paul (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. Tyron Woodley (0-1, 0 KOs)

  • Date: Saturday, Dec. 18
  • Time: 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT (main event later in show)
  • Where: Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida
  • TV/Stream: Pay-per-view
  • Division: Cruiserweight
  • At stake: No titles
  • Pound-for-pound ranking: None
  • Odds: Paul 2-1 favorite (average of multiple outlets)
  • Also on the card: Amanda Serrano vs. Miriam Gutierrez, lightweights; Deron Williams vs. Frank Gore, heavyweights; Liam Paro vs. Yomar Alamo, junior welterweights
  • Prediction: Paul UD
  • Background: Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, was fortunate to have defeated Woodley by a split decision in August yet has agreed to face the former MMA star a second time after Tommy Fury pulled out as his opponent. Paul blasted out his first three opponents, Ali Eson Gib (TKO 1), Nate Robinson (KO 2) and Ben Askren (TKO 1), but the newbie had difficulty with Woodley’s solid striking ability and experience. Woodley, 39, made his pro boxing debut in that fight. Seven-division titleholder Amanda Serrano (41-1-1, 30 KOs) is the most-accomplished fighter on the card. The unified featherweight titleholder appears to be on a collision course with undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor in what would be a huge women’s bout next year. Gutierrez shouldn’t give Serrano much trouble even though the latter is moving up from 126 pounds to 135. Gutierrez lost a near-shutout decision to Taylor in November of last year, her only fight at the elite level. And she won’t have a significant advantage in terms of natural size. Serrano has successfully moved up and down in weight, including a stint as a 140-pound titleholder.
