Panthers at Wild projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (14-6-1, 2.97 GAA, .889 SV%) vs. Marc-Andre Fleury (6-1-1, 2.51 GAA, .909 SV%)

Bobrovsky started Monday’s tilt in Edmonton and allowed 5 goals. The veteran netminder has run hot and cold over recent weeks. He’s allowed 9 goals over his last 2 starts.

Panthers at Wild picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 4, Wild 3

Moneyline

This one simply comes down to how you feel about the 2 defenses vs. the numbers they’ve posted so far. Per Hockey-Reference.com, Minnesota leads the NHL with a .941 SV% in 5-on-5 play. Florida’s .902 mark ranks 31st in that same measure.

Peg both sides as due for market corrections. Shot-type and puck-possession analytics are bullish on the Panther defense and bearish on the Wild’s.

BACK FLORIDA (-145).

Puck line/Against the spread

No interest. STEER CLEAR.

Over/Under

The Over has gone 7-2-1 across the last 10 series meetings.

The goalie match-up may have been a terrific one five years ago, but it creates an Over lean these days.

Florida has banged out 5-plus goals 5 times over its last 11 games. Minnesota has yielded 3.80 goals per game over its last 5 contests. And the Wild defense has killed off just 7 of its last 13 penalties.

The OVER 5.5 (-105) is the value side here.

Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Panthers (26-23-6) and Minnesota Wild (28-20-4) tussle Monday in St. Paul. Puck drop at Xcel Energy Center is slated for an 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Panthers vs. Wild odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Florida is opening a 4-game road trip Monday. The Panthers are 3-1-0 over their last 4 games but lost 5-3 at home to the Colorado Avalanche Saturday.

Panthers at Wild projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (14-14-2, 3.13 GAA, .903 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Marc-Andre Fleury (16-11-3, 2.98 GAA, .902 SV%)

Bobrovsky was out in late January with a lower-body injury, but the veteran netminder has bounced back with 3 fine starts so far this month (.948 SV%). He owns a .929 career SV% in 16 games against Minnesota.

Fleury logged 4 straight quality starts from late January to early February. However, he was leaky in his last outing, stopping just 18-of-23 shots against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.

Panthers at Wild picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 4, Wild 3

Moneyline

This figures as a mostly even goaltending battle, but give a firm edge to the Panthers in 5-on-5 play. Florida does well to create high-danger chances at a top-shelf level. It has gotten a solid depth of scoring across multiple lines and is averaging 4.21 GPG since Jan. 12.

The Wild — losers of 4 straight against Florida, including a 5-3 game on Jan. 21 — have scored just 2.22 GPG over their last 9, and that’s been with a powerplay going at a strong clip.

BACK THE PANTHERS (-105).

Puck line/Against the spread

STEER CLEAR.

Minnesota figures to stay close enough in overall scoring chances, and the goal-and-a-half is too big an ask at this juice-depleted level of a payout on the Florida side.

Over/Under

No lean: PASS.

The goaltending matchup is respectable. The overall offensive numbers for the Panthers and the powerplay for the Wild counteract.

Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Panthers (33-10-5) travel to meet the Minnesota Wild (30-12-3) Friday at XCel Energy Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Wild odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers pay a visit to St. Paul for a rescheduled game from Dec. 18. Florida is coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win at the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday in a game that resembled a playoff contest. It was the team’s first appearance since Feb. 1.

The Wild were doubled up 6-3 at the Winnipeg Jets Wednesday, snapping a modest two-game win streak that saw the team record victories against the Detroit Red Wings and Hurricanes. The Over has connected in each of the last two outings.

Panthers at Wild projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (24-4-3, 2.54 GAA, .919 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Cam Talbot (19-9-1, 2.86 GAA, .912 SV%, 1 SO)

Bobrovsky was not tested much Wednesday in Raleigh as he stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced in the 3-2 overtime win. However, the shots he did face, especially late in the game, were at point-blank range.

Talbot was toasted for 5 goals on 30 shots in Wednesday’s 6-3 loss at Winnipeg, a house of horrors for Minnesota of late. Talbot has still won four of his last five starts and is 2-1-0 with a 2.37 GAA and .929 SV% with 1 SO in February.

Panthers at Wild odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 4, Wild 2

Money line

The PANTHERS (-125) are playing very good hockey, and they’ll use Wednesday’s playoff-like victory as a springboard into this East-West matchup.

The Wild were embarrassed on the road last time out, and the offense will have a difficult time trying to solve another top-notch goaltender after being mostly shut down by Connor Hellebuyck Wednesday.

Against the spread

The PANTHERS -1.5 (+185) are worth a small-unit wager at this price, with the potential to nearly double up. Yes, Florida has won two of its past three games in overtime, but seven of its last 10 victories have been by 2 or more goals.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (+120) is a very good value at plus-money.

The Under hit in Florida’s game in Carolina, snapping a 3-0 Over run. While the Over has cashed in two in a row for Minnesota, the Under is 3-2 in its last five outings and 5-3 in its previous eight against Eastern Conference foes.
