Panthers, Falcons Week 5 inactives: Julio Jones ruled out

Here are the players who won’t be in the lineup.

The Panthers have released their inactives list for today’s road game against the Falcons.

Here are the players who won’t be in the lineup.

CB Eli Apple
QB P.J. Walker
CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver
G Dennis Daley
G Michael Schofield

Once again, Will Grier will be backing up Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback. With Daley and Schofield both out, the Panthers can’t afford any injuries at the guard positions.

On the other side, Atlanta will be without the following players:

WR Julio Jones
CB Jordan Miller
RB Qadree Ollison
S Jaylinn Hawkins
OT John Wetzel
DT Deadrin Senat

Jones is of course the Falcons’ most-talented player and the best wide receiver on the planet, so his absence is a huge deal. This should enable Carolina’s defense to focus on stopping Calvin Ridley, who toasted them in their two meetings last year.

Check back during the game for highlights and afterwards for analysis.

Panthers Week 4 inactives: Russell Okung, Dennis Daley ruled out again

Panthers Week 4 inactives: Russell Okung, Dennis Daley ruled out again.

The Carolina Panthers have released their inactives list for today’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Here is a look at the players who won’t be in the lineup.

OT Russell Okung
OL Dennis Daley
QB P.J. Walker
CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver
RB Trenton Cannon
LB Chris Orr
DT Bravvion Roy

With Okung ruled out for the second straight game, we will likely see Trent Scott starting at left tackle. The team rotated him and Greg Little last week. Scott got more snaps and looks like the more polished of the two right now.

At left guard, Chris Reed has taken over for Michael Schofield as the replacement for Daley, who hasn’t played yet this season.

On the other side, Arizona will be without the following players:

QB Brett Hundley
RB Eno Benjamin
S Chris Banjo
S Budda Baker
LB Devon Kennard
OL Josh Miles
OL Josh Jones

There was some question whether wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins would play after being limited at practice this week, but he’s in the lineup. The Cardinals defense will be missing Baker though.

Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. ET. Check back for highlights during the game and analysis after.

Panthers inactives: OT Russell Okung ruled out vs. Chargers

The Panthers have released their official inactives list for today’s game against the Chargers.

The Carolina Panthers have released their official inactives list for today’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Here are the handful of players who won’t be in the lineup.

OT Russell Okung
DT Kawann Short
OL Dennis Daley
QB P.J. Walker
RB Trenton Cannon
DE Shareef Miller

Carolina will be starting 2019 second-round pick Greg Little at left tackle with Okung ruled out due to a groin injury. Short is missing his second straight week with a foot issue and Daley is still out with his sprained ankle. The rest are healthy scratches. Walker being inactive means Will Grier will once again be Teddy Bridgewater’s backup.

On the other side, the Chargers will be without former Panthers guard Trai Turner plus a few others. Here’s their inactives list.

QB Tyrod Taylor
WR Jason Moore
RB Justin Jackson
LB Nick Vigil
G Trai Turner
OT Storm Norton
TE Donald Parham Jr.

Panthers Week 2 inactives: QB Will Grier sitting out vs. Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers have released their inactives list for their Week 2 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Carolina Panthers have released their inactives list for their Week 2 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Here are the players who will not be in the lineup today.

DT Kawann Short
DE Yetur Gross-Matos
OL Dennis Daley
QB Will Grier
CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver
DE Shareef Miller

Obviously missing two defensive line starters is a big deal. Zach Kerr will start in Short’s place, while Stephen Weatherly takes over for the rookie Gross-Matos. Short suffered a foot injury last week against the Raiders and Gross-Matos is in the concussion protocol after getting poked in the eye at practice.

To help compensate for these two being ruled out, the team promoted defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton from the practice squad yesterday.

On offense, the quarterback situation is the story. Last week, P.J. Walker was on the inactives list, making Will Grier the backup behind Teddy Bridgewater. This week, they’ve switched. Coach Matt Rhule says the two will rotate depending on how they do in practice. The team plans to carry both on the active roster throughout the season.

As for the Buccaneers, here is their list of inactives.

QB Ryan Griffin
WR Chris Godwin
WR Tyler Johnson
CB Parnell Motley
OLB Cam Gill
G Aaron Stinnie
DL Khalil Davis

Godwin of course cooked the Panthers defense last season in both meetings, so that’s a significant loss. He is also dealing with a concussion.

Panthers release inactives list for season opener vs. Raiders

Here is a list of the Carolina Panthers who will not be available for today’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Carolina Panthers have released their inactives list for today’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Here are the five players who won’t be available.

OL Dennis Daley
QB P.J. Walker
DE Shareef Miller
CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver
TE Colin Thompson

Walker’s name here means that Will Grier will serve as Teddy Bridgewater’s backup today. Coach Matt Rhule says that competition will continue week to week and that role may change depending on how they perform in practice.

Speaking of practice, Daley did not participate this week due to a sprained ankle and he was ruled out on Friday. He was expected to start at left guard. That spot will go to former Chargers offensive lineman Michael Schofield instead.

The team listed over 20 players on their official injury report. Most of them were full participants all week though, including tight end Ian Thomas (toe). Defensive end Stephen Weatherly was also listed as questionable along with Thomas-Oliver but he will play.

As for the other side, the Raiders will be without the following players:

WR Rico Gafford
S Dallin Leavitt
OT Brandon Parker
G John Simpson
DT Daniel Ross

Check back later for highlights and analysis after the game.

Panthers Week 16 inactives: Shaq Thompson out vs. Colts

The Panthers will try to break their six-game losing streak on the road today against the Colts.

The Panthers will try to break their six-game losing streak on the road today against the Colts. They are missing a few key players, though.

Here’s a look at who won’t be in the lineup in Indy.

LB Shaq Thompson
DE Marquis Haynes
DT Woodrow Hamilton
OL Matt Kaskey
CB Corn Elder
DE Christian Miller
DB T.J. Green

With Thompson ruled out, expect the Panthers to get a long look at backup linebacker Jermaine Carter Jr. He’s performed well on special teams but has not seen the field much on defense.

As for the names you don’t see here, center Matt Paradis was listed as questionable due to an illness, but he’s going to play. Defensive tackle Vernon Butler is in the same boat. Wide receiver Curtis Samuel was also questionable with a knee injury but he’ll go.

On the other side, the Colts are down two cornerbacks. Kenny Moore (ankle) and Quincy Wilson (shoulder) are both out.

Panthers vs. Seahawks: Inactives for Week 15 matchup

The Carolina Panthers will play host to the Seattle Seahawks in about an hour and a half.

The Carolina Panthers will play host to the Seattle Seahawks in about an hour and a half.

Here’s a look at who won’t be in the lineup today.

TE Greg Olsen
DE Marquis Haynes
DE Christian Miller
OL Garrett McGhin
LB Ramik Wilson
DT Woodrow Hamilton
CB Corn Elder

Olsen is missing his second consecutive game with a concussion. Ian Thomas should continue to see a larger role in the passing game with him out. On the bright side, Olsen was spotted warming up on the field so he may be back soon. Haynes is recovering from a knee injury. The rest are healthy scratches.

As for the Seahawks, they’ll be playing without their top defensive lineman. Jadeveon Clowney has been ruled out with a core injury.

Panthers Week 14 inactives: Greg Olsen, Christian Miller out vs. Falcons

The Panthers and Falcons will kick off in about 90 minutes. Here’s a look at the team’s inactive list for today’s game.

The Panthers and Falcons will kick off in about 90 minutes. Here’s a look at the team’s inactive list for today’s game.

TE Greg Olsen
OLB Christian Miller
DT Woodrow Hamilton
OT Greg Little
OL Chris Reed
DT Stacy McGee
CB Corn Elder

Only Olsen (concussion) and Little (ankle) are injured. The rest are healthy scratches.

Olsen is still in the protocol after taking a head shot in last Sunday’s loss to Washington. Interim coach Perry Fewell told reporters this week we’ll see a tight end by committee approach, which means both Ian Thomas and Chris Manhertz could play meaningful snaps.

On defense, outside linebacker Marquis Haynes will be active in place of the rookie Christian Miller, who has only played seven games this season.

As for the Falcons, they will be a bit short-handed in the trenches. Offensive linemen Jamon Brown, Ty Sambrailo and James Carpenter have all been ruled out. Atlanta allowed nine sacks on Matt Ryan against the Saints last week, so this is a prime opportunity for Carolina’s pass rush to feast.

Panthers Week 13 inactives: Greg Little ruled out vs. Washington

The Carolina Panthers have released their inactives list for today’s game against the Washington Redskins.

Here’s a look at who won’t be playing today.

DE Wes Horton
OL Brad Lundblade
EDGE Marquis Haynes
OT Greg Little
LB Jordan Kunaszyk
WR Brandon Zylstra
CB Corn Elder

The big name here is second-round pick Greg Little, who has had a frustrating rookie season to say the least. A concussion put him out from Weeks 4-11 and now he’s dealing with an ankle injury. Expect Dennis Daley to take his spot at left tackle, today.

On the other side, Washington will be without its top edge pass rusher. Ryan Kerrigan has been ruled out for the first time in his NFL career. Wide receiver Paul Richardson is also out.

Panthers release inactives list for Week 12 matchup with Saints

Here’s a look at the team’s inactive list for Week 12.

The Panthers face a huge challenge on the road today as they face the division-leading Saints.

Here’s a look at the team’s inactive list for Week 12.

DE Wes Horton
RB Mike Davis
EDGE Marquis Haynes
CB Ross Cockrell
LB Jordan Kunaszyk
WR Brandon Zylstra
CB Corn Elder

This is pretty much the same group from last week’s game against the Falcons, with a few small changes. The biggest one is the rookie Christian Miller being in the lineup and Haynes taking his place here. Kyle Love is also back after sitting out against Atlanta.

As for New Orleans, they will be playing without their best cornerback. Marshon Lattimore has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
