[autotag]Mick Parkin[/autotag] (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) stayed unbeaten with the first finish of the night in front of his home fans. He shut the lights out on Lukasz Brzeski (10-5-1 MMA, 1-4 UFC) in the first round for a big $100,000 bonus, which almost certainly dwarfs his fight pay.

[autotag]Tom Aspinall[/autotag] (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) looked every bit the part of the best heavyweight in the world. He needed only one minute to take out Curtis Blaydes (18-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) in their rematch to retain the interim heavyweight title.

Paddy Pimblett def. King Green via technical submission (triangle choke) – Round 1, 3:22
It was a good week for [autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC). He signed a new contract earlier in the week. Then he put King Green (32-16-1 MMA, 13-11-1 UFC) to sleep in the first round with a finish that was enough for Dana White to give him a double-dose of bonus juice for $200,000. Sorry, Modestas Bukauskas. Sorry, Sam Patterson.

UFC 304 results: Paddy Pimblett sleeps King Green with beautiful triangle choke

Paddy Pimblett backed it up and left King Green snoozing.

[autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] passed arguably his toughest test to date in flying colors.

In the UFC 304 feature bout, Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) backed up all the talk with a textbook triangle choke submission that left [autotag]King Green[/autotag] (32-16-1 MMA, 13-11-1 UFC) snoozing on the canvas at 3:22 of Round 1. The lightweight bout took place at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.

Green came out swinging, but ultimately shot for a takedown. Pimblett grabbed his neck and pulled for a guillotine choke. When Green popped his head out, Pimblett promptly snatched a triangle choke. Green tried to adjust, but Pimblett grabbed his leg.

As Green sat back the lights went out and Pimblett incorporated an armbar, as well. Green was unconscious and the fight was waved off.

After the fight, Pimblett called out UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano.

Pimblett continues his surge up the UFC ladder. The submission was his third in six UFC fights. Prior to the win over Green, Pimblett had defeated Tony Ferguson, Jared Gordon, and Jordan Leavitt among others.

Green falls to 3-2 in his most recent five outings.

Paddy Pimblett vs. King Green prediction, pick, start time, odds for UFC 304

Could King Green be the one to derail the Paddy Pimblett hype train? Here’s a look at the UFC 304 featured bout.

[autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] and [autotag]King Green[/autotag] meet Saturday in the featured bout of UFC 304 at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.

Last event: 3-2
UFC main cards, 2024: 61-54-3

Paddy Pimblett vs. King Green UFC 304 preview

There’s no question England’s own Pimblett (21-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) is the overwhelming fan favorite in Manchester, where the former Cage Warriors champion will try to keep his star on the rise by winning his seventh consecutive fight overall, including five in the UFC. After finishing his first three UFC bouts against what could be considered “lesser” competition, Pimblett has fought to unanimous decision wins in his past two bouts over veterans Jared Gordon and Tony Ferguson. … Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC), another tough veteran, should present a stern challenge. He’s won three of his past four fights, most recently putting on a beatdown of Jim Miller in April.

Paddy Pimblett vs. King Green UFC 304 expert pick, prediction

Serving as an eye-catching lightweight attraction is a showdown between Green and Pimblett.

I really don’t mean to jump any sort of train, whether they’re hype or hate-based. However, I can’t help but question the skills ceiling that people are seeing when they’re so confidently getting behind Pimblett.

Aside from the undeniable fact that Pimblett has been handled with kid gloves as a promotional darling who has received favorable treatment in and out of the octagon from organizations to judges alike, I’m not hearing anyone cite any actual high-level skills, much less basic processes when breaking down Pimblett’s fights.

It’s nothing personal to “Paddy the Baddy,” whom I appreciate greatly for using his platform to speak out on such issues as mental health. I just don’t see what everyone is writing home about when looking at his lack of depth as a fighter.

Not only does Pimblett still keep his chin sky high in exchanges, but I’m not seeing a reliable process in regards to consistently getting fights into his submission wheelhouse as he moves up the ranks.

Green, on the other hand, is a criminally underrated fighter who has had the opposite luck as Pimblett both in life and when it comes to the scorecards given that the veteran is largely a counter-striker who works the body (a notorious and at this point undeniable blindspot for the judges).

That said, I suspect that Green – so long as he doesn’t end up getting club-and-subbed early off of something stupid – will end up punishing Pimblett like never before should this hit the mid-to-later rounds.

The pick is “King” Green by third-round TKO.

Paddy Pimblett vs. King Green UFC 304 odds

Despite the oddsmakers opening the American as a near 2-to-1 favorite, public money has pushed this fight to pick’em odds, listing Green -114 and Pimblett -106, according to FanDuel.

Paddy Pimblett manager: ‘The Baddy’ is UFC’s biggest U.K. star – ‘nobody is even close’

Well before Paddy Pimblett got his new UFC deal wrapped up earlier this week, his manager knew big things were on the way.

Well before [autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] got his new UFC deal wrapped up earlier this week, his manager and former promoter knew big things were on the way.

Graham Boylan, who promoted “The Baddy” when he fought under his Cage Warriors banner and became featherweight champion, manages him now, and ahead of his Saturday fight at UFC 304 (pay-per-view, ESPN2, ESPN+) in Manchester, England, presumably was instrumental in wrapping up the new contract.

In June, Boylan told MMA Junkie Radio he thinks Pimblett is the biggest star from the United Kingdom on the UFC’s roster.

“There is nobody – nobody – in the U.K. that even comes close to his popularity,” Boylan said. “There isn’t a single U.K.-signed UFC athlete that comes close to Paddy “The Baddy’s” popularity, and it’s that simple. There’ll be screaming and shouting of all sorts, and it’s this and it’s that (about who’s the most popular). I’m telling you, it’s just fact: Nobody is even close to his popularity, good and bad, love and hate it. It’s just phenomenal – the interactions, the social media numbers, the stats, the analytics we see.”

Pimblett (21-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) on Saturday has arguably the biggest fight of his UFC career so far when he takes on lightweight slugger King Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC). The tension between the two has been palpable during fight week.

Pimblett has been the betting favorite in all five of his UFC fights – until now. Against Green, he started as a slight underdog, and the fight is nearly a coin toss down the stretch.

But if Pimblett pulls off an impressive win, the UFC will look smart to have signed him up to a new contract. Boylan said as his career progresses, they will be trying to not rush things.

“The matchmaking and the development of Paddy in the UFC has been great,” Boylan said. “The fights have been the right fights at the right time. They’ve been steps up at the right time. People keep forgetting: Paddy is still young and he has more fights than some guys who have retired. He’s still young. He’s still in his late 20s. There’s no rush for Paddy. Paddy could have another four fights taking a small step up for the next three or four fights. What’s the rush with him?

“But at the same time, I personally have to thank the UFC and Sean (Shelby) for how they’ve developed him and how they’ve worked with us on fights that are exciting, that get Paddy going, as well – they get Paddy excited. If Paddy had his way, he’d be fighting for the belt tomorrow. He’d take all the tough fights. But sometimes you just need to take a step back and develop a little bit, too.”

Jared Gordon: Paddy Pimblett vs. Bobby Green at UFC 304 ‘a tough fight for both of them’

There’s one reason Jared Gordon believes King Green might have to do a little extra to beat Paddy Pimblett at UFC 304.

MANCHESTER, England – UFC lightweight [autotag]Jared Gordon[/autotag] has recent history with both [autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] and [autotag]King Green[/autotag], adding weight to his thoughts on their UFC 304 encounter.

In December 2022, Gordon lost a unanimous decision to Pimblett in what many considered a robbery. Four months later, Gordon stepped in the cage against Green in a fight that ended in a no contest after Green accidentally headbutted Gordon during his finishing sequence.

On Saturday, Pimblett (21-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC) will meet on UFC 304 main card at Co-op Live. Gordon doesn’t consider the matchup an easy task for either man, but he believes Green might have his work cut out for him a little more given the circumstances.

“It’s a tough fight for both of them,” Gordon, who’s in Manchester to support Belal Muhammad, told MMA Junkie on the eve of UFC 304. “Being that we’re here in Manchester, in Paddy’s homeland, I guess you can call it favoritism, but he definitely has homefield advantage. I think Bobby has to really make it definitive, put a stamp on it. But I think that it’s fair game for either guy. I think whoever goes out there and sets the pace will set the tone for the rest of the fight and show who definitely will be the winner.”

Earlier in fight week, Gordon posted a video on X of him and Pimblett sharing a pleasant elevator ride. Gordon said it went out how he thought it wood.

“I’ve had other encounters with him since our fight, and we were always cool,” Gordon said. “There was never any animosity. … How do you not like the guy? He’s funny, he’s funny sounding, he’s funny looking, and he’s a sweetheart really. It was all laughs, and we had a good time. It was nice.”

What time is Paddy Pimblett vs. King Green? Walkout time for UFC 304 featured bout

Here’s when to expect Paddy Pimblett and King Green to make their cage walks at UFC 304.

[autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] and [autotag]King Green[/autotag], the fighter formerly known as Bobby Green, are finally set to throw down at UFC 304 after months of trash talk. This lightweight bout scheduled for three rounds is taking place Saturday, July 27 at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.

Pimblett, 29, looks to continue his ascent as a UFC star. A former Cage Warriors champion, Pimblett (21-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) has won his first five UFC bouts to much fanfare, which is sure to continue in his home country.

Green, 37, is not only another big name standing in Pimblett’s way after he most recently defeated Tony Ferguson, but he’s a formidable challenge with his high-pressure style of fighting. The veteran Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC) has won three of his past four bouts and is coming off a brutal victorious performance against Jim Miller.

UFC 304: King Green vs. Paddy Pimblett odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 304 odds between King Green vs. Paddy Pimblett, with MMA picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

In a 3-round lightweight bout on the main card, King Green and Paddy Pimblett meet Saturday at UFC 304 at Co-op Live in Manchester, United Kingdom. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the UFC 304: Green vs. Pimblett odds, and make our expert picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m., and they can be viewed on ESPN+. The prelims begin 8 p.m. ET, and they can be viewed on ESPN2/ESPN+, while the main card starts at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View (PPV).

Records: Green (32-15-1) | Pimblett (21-3-0)

Green bounced back from a 1st-round KO/TKO loss to Jalin Turner in early December with a unanimous-decision win over Jim Miller in mid-April at UFC 300 in Las Vegas. King is 3-1 in his past 4 fights since a no-contest against Jared Gordon in April 2023.

It’s a rarity to see Green fights go the judges’ cards as each of his past 6 bouts resulted in a finish inside the distance. Since a 1st-round KO/TKO win over Al Iaquinta at UFC 268 in November 2021, he has gone the distance just twice in the past 9 events. In fact, in 4 of the past 7 bouts, the fight hasn’t made it past the opening round.

For Pimblett, he is coming off back-to-back unanimous-decision wins over Tony Ferguson (Dec. 16, 2023) and Gordon (Dec. 10, 2022). Prior to that, he submitted Jordan Leavitt (July 2022) and Kazula Vargas (March 2022), while posting a 1st-round KO/TKO win over Luigi Vendramini (September 2021), showing off his versatility.

Since arriving at the UFC level, he has 2 wins by decision, 2 wins by submission and 1 KO/TKO victory. The Baddy can get it done in a number of different ways. In his career, Pimblett is 21-3-0, going 6-0 via KO/TKO and 9-1 by way of submission.

Pimblett has a number of things on his side. The Englishman will have a pro-home crowd spurring him on, and he holds a 2-inch reach advantage. Green has a 6.45-to-5.13 significant strikes landed per minute advantage, while Pimblett is slightly more accurate with those strikes at 59.67% to 55.21% for Green.

Takedown average difference is negligible, but Paddy has a 1.63 submission average, so it might behoove King to keep this fight upright.

UFC 304: Green vs. Pimblett picks and predictions

Fight result (2-way line or moneyline)

BACK PIMBLETT (-104). He will easily be facing the toughest opponent he has met at the UFC level as the veteran Green (-112) is a beast.

There isn’t a lot to glean, as far as common opponents, as Green had a no contest against Gordon, while Pimblett eased by Gordon via unanimous-decision.

However, what stands out is that this fight is in Manchester, which is the equivalent of Ivan Drago hosting Rocky in Moscow. It will be a pro-Paddy crowd, but the hometown fans aren’t likely to turn on Pimblett in the end.

BETTING PIMBLETT (-104) is the play here.

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-140): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE? isn’t priced out of line, and it is a good bet in this bout on the main card.

Green ended up going the distance in his last bout — vs. Miller — while Pimblett has needed the assistance of the judges to determine a winner in his past 2 fights. As the quality of opponent increases, so does the length of the bout. That will be especially true in this clash.

If you’re like a little more wiggle room, OVER 2.5 ROUNDS (-172) is a little pricey, but even if the fight ends in the 2nd half of Round 3 or beyond, you’re a winner.

Since we tabbed the Briton to win on the 2-way line, rolling the dice on PIMBLETT BY POINTS (+280) for the chance to nearly triple up on the method of victory prop is worth a light play.

Paddy Pimblett announces new contract ahead of UFC 304 showdown with King Green

Paddy Pimblett said something was being made out of nothing about his contract status ahead of UFC 304, and it looks like he was right.

[autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] said something was being made out of nothing about his contract status ahead of UFC 304, and it looks like he was right.

After he mentioned being courted by social media influencer-types for boxing matches, the storyline quickly became he was on the last fight of his UFC deal and had the potential to leave for other opportunities.

Pimblett quickly shut that down and asked why he would leave the UFC and said a new deal was being worked on at the time. In the fifth episode of the UFC 304 behind-the-scenes “Embedded” video series that was released Friday, Pimblett confirms on camera he has signed a new deal.

In addition, his manager, Cage Warriors promoter Graham Boylan, confirmed his client had re-upped with the promotion.

Earlier in the week, Pimblett lamented the news cycle that focused on the possibility he could leave the UFC.

“Nothing I do cannot be spun out of context,” Pimblett said Wednesday. “What I said in the interview was, obviously I want to get a new contract. If I got offered millions to box some YouTuber, then I’d do it. Who wouldn’t? We’re prizefighters. … My contract is already getting negotiated. As if the UFC is just going to let me go. Are you f*cking messing?”

Pimblett (21-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) on Saturday takes on longtime UFC lightweight King Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC) at Co-op Live in the featured fight on the main card. Pimblett, 29, a former Cage Warriors champion, is one of Europe’s biggest UFC stars. He’s yet to lose in the promotion through five appearances.
