Indiana Pacers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Indiana Pacers at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Indiana Pacers (19-36) visit State Farm Arena Tuesday to take on the Atlanta Hawks (25-28). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pacers vs. Hawks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Pacers agreed to trade SG Caris LeVert to the Cavaliers, shortly before losing as 7-point underdogs at Cleveland 98-85 Sunday night. It was too soon for LeVert to play for his new team, but he will definitely help the Cavs the rest of the season.

A report broke Tuesday afternoon that the Pacers were trading PF Domantas Sabonis, SF Justin Holiday and SG Jeremy Lamb to the Sacramento Kings for SG Buddy Hield, PG Tyrese Haliburton and C Tristan Thompson. So, Tuesday night’s Indiana lineup should be a mishmash of sorts.

The Pacers are 4-5-1 against the spread (ATS) over their last 10 games. At 6-21, they’re the second-worst road team in the NBA, but are just 2 games under .500 ATS (12-14-1) away from home.

Overall, the Hawks are 15-12 straight up (SU) and 14-13 ATS at home. After a slow start to the season, the Hawks have covered 8 of their last 11 outings, winning each of those 8 they covered.

PG Trae Young has been heating up lately and is now averaging the third-most points per game (26.0) in the league. Atlanta ranks second in offensive rating this season.

Pacers at Hawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 116, Pacers 102

Money line

PASS.

Never bet a regular-season NBA favorite at -1000. As for backing the Pacers (+600), they already don’t have many of their starters from opening day and will be shorthanded, so betting on an upset is unlikely as well.

Against the spread

LEAN to the HAWKS -11.5 (-115).

Atlanta has been far better at home this season, posting a 15-12 SU record. It’s the Hawks’ 3-point shooting that should do the trick. They rank second in 3-point shooting percentage at 37.3%.

Meanwhile, Indiana opponents hit triples at a 35.4% rate, which ranks 20th in the league. The Hawks also have the lowest turnover rate, while the Pacers rank 22nd.

The chances Atlanta gets should be far greater than Indiana. That should easily propel the Hawks to a double-digit victory. Losing by 13 to Cleveland Sunday, Indiana seems in full-on tank mode, which should be on display Tuesday.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 226.5 (-112).

While the Cavaliers do have one of the best defenses in the NBA, the Pacers scored just 85 Sunday. Now, without their best scoring threat in LeVert, they may struggle to score.

The Pacers are 28-26-1 O/U this season. The Hawks are 28-25 O/U.

However, both teams rank outside the top 15 in pace with Indiana 20th and Atlanta 17th. The Hawks haven’t scored more than 100 points in 2 of their last 4 games.

Pacers at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pacers 122, Hawks 115

Money line (ML)

The PACERS (+155) is worth playing despite the fact the Hawks have won three of the past four, while cashing in seven of the past nine.

Indiana has covered three of its past four, too, and cashed 125-113 in Atlanta in the first meeting as a 1.5-point favorite.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The PACERS +4.5 (-110) came up short in Utah by a 119-111 score as 10-point underdogs, and they’re 5-1 ATS in the past six as an underdog of 3.5 or more points.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 233.5 (-110) is the play as Indiana plays very little defense. The Pacers have allowed 119 or more points in four consecutive games and the Over has hit in three of the past four.

The Over also cashed in the first meeting with a total of 238 points against a 223.5 number.
