Jim Brown to Joe Thomas: Best Browns player to wear every jersey number

We know of the Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Joe Thomas, but who were the best Browns players to wear every single number?

The Cleveland Browns have a rich history. While they have not had a stellar track record since their return to the league in 1999 (Joe Thomas is their only Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee since), they are remembered for the dominance of Jim Brown, Otto Graham, and more. As the Browns look to get back into the playoffs for the first time in three years, perhaps there are brighter days on the horizon.

Until then, however, we will continue to reminisce on the good days. We do just that here, taking a look at the best players at every number to suit up for the Browns throughout their entire franchise history.

Browns football is exactly two months away

With exactly two months remaining until the season opener for the Cleveland Browns football is almost back. Over the history of the team, a total of 17 different players have worn the number 60. The first was Hall of Fame quarterback Otto Graham, before he later changed his number, in 1946.

Going into training camp offensive lineman Hunter Thedford will wear the number as he battles to try and make the 53-man roster. We continue our countdown and walk down memory lane as we look back at five players that have worn the number 60 for the Cleveland Browns during the regular season.

Browns Mount Rushmore: Who are the best players in Cleveland history?

Who makes it onto the Mount Rushmore for Cleveland?

Though things haven’t been great since the Cleveland Browns returned in 1999. Before that, however, the team had a rich history of winning and talented players. The Browns have sent 18 players to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including running back Jim Brown, which ranks 10th all-time. They will also add a 19th member this summer when left tackle Joe Thomas is inducted into the Hall.

There are plenty of players to choose from when making a Mount Rushmore of the four most influential players in team history. It was a tough decision when looking at players like Clay Matthews and Bernie Kosar, who had great careers and just missed the cut. Let’s take a look at the Mount Rushmore, Browns edition.

Breaking down Baker Mayfield’s record-setting 1st half vs. the Titans

Baker Mayfield has heard the criticism. He is acutely aware of the missed throws and blown opportunities that have pockmarked an otherwise solid season for the Browns quarterback.

He had no such problems in Tennessee against the Titans in the first half of Sunday’s game. In fact, Mayfield had one of the best halves of football in Cleveland Browns history.

Mayfield’s line at halftime:

20 completions on 25 attempts, 290 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, QB Rating of 154.6

Now factor in that one of those incompletions was a perfect throw that should have been a touchdown but rookie wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones dropped it. Two others were intentional throwaways to avoid negative plays. Peoples-Jones redeemed himself with a 75-yard catch-and-run that was perfectly executed, too.

Oh yeah, Mayfield also caught a pass from Jarvis Landry.

The Browns scored on each of their first six offensive possessions. They’ve never topped scoring on the first five possessions in the expansion era.

In the process, Mayfield became the first Browns quarterback since Otto Graham to throw four touchdowns in the first half of a game. It’s been almost 70 years since the Hall of Famer pulled that off.

The 38 points the Browns scored before halftime are a franchise record. So are the 344 net yards of offense.
