Oregon at Washington State: Three things to know
- Both teams started their seasons with straight-up and against-the-spread victories when the Pac-12 opened play a week ago. Oregon scored in every quarter and rushed for 296 yards in a 35-14 home win over Stanford. Washington State won on the road, defeating Oregon State 38-28. The Cougars also scored in every quarter; they piled up 229 yards on the ground.
- Wazzou has played the Ducks as tough as anyone over recent years. The Cougars lost last year’s tussle 37-35 on the road, but they had won the previous four games in the series. Washington State carries a 10-game ATS win streak into Saturday’s contest; the Cougars’ average margin of cover over the last seven of those games is a whopping 16.1 points.
- Young quarterbacks will be on display on both sides of this one. Last week, Oregon sophomore QB Tyler Shough completed 17 of 26 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown and rushed 11 times for 85 yards and a score. In Corvalis, freshman Jayden de Laura passed for two touchdowns and ran for a score in his college debut. De Laura went 18-for-33 for 227 yards through the air.

Oregon at Washington State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Oregon 35, Washington State 24
Money line (ML)
The Cougars’ recent history in the series is intriguing, but the straight up odds are respectable: PASS.
Against the spread (ATS)
The Oregon side has some steam on this line. The Ducks have much the better talent base in recruiting, and under head coach Mario Cristobal, UO has gone 5-2 ATS as a road favorite. THE CLEAR LEAN IS ON THE DUCKS -10.5 (-106), but the play would only have value at a tag of -9.5 or better.
Over/Under (O/U)
The Over is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings between the Ducks and Cougars. UO’s defense showed a few warts (6.4 yards per carry allowed was a big one) that were paved over by the final score in last week’s effort against Stanford. Weather calls for a temperature in the high 30s and a chance of rain, and that seems to have tamped down the number a bit too much. THERE IS VALUE ON THE OVER 57.5 (-115).
