Tennessee’s defense has recorded 171 tackles through three games during the 2024 season.
Will Brooks and Edrees Farooq (10) lead the Vols in tackles, while Arion Carter, Keenan Pili and Jakobe Thomas have recorded nine tackles each.
Ahead of Week 4 against Oklahoma, first-year linebackers coach William Inge evaluated Tennessee’s tackling through three games.
“I think we’ve been fairly consistent at our tackling, and again, often you’re going to be in a battle before you really see how it is, but we’ve definitely been effective thus far,” Inge said. “You only know how good you are off of your last performance, so we still have to keep our thumb on it going into the next game.
“Once we get done with one game, we turn the page and we move on to teaching again because the skill level is going to be better, obviously, this week and we still have to go out there and execute and do our job.”
