Ohio State at Michigan State: Three things to know
- The Buckeyes had games Nov. 14 against Maryland and Nov. 28 against Illinois canceled due to COVID-19. They need this game to stay in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs. Ohio State tops the Big Ten with 233.2 rushing yards per game, QB Justin Fields is fourth in the contry with a 202.10 quarterback efficiency mark.
- Ohio State WR Garrett Wilson is seventh in the country with 128.3 receiving yards per game, and he has four straight 100-yard games, the second-longest streak in school history. WR Chris Olave has 97.3 receiving yards per game, and the duo has hauled in eight of Fields’ 13 touchdown strikes.
- Michigan State has averaged 18.0 points per game, but it’s coming off a 29-20 upset win over Northwestern, recording a season-high in points. The Spartans are 2-0 straight up and ATS this season as double-digit underdogs.

Ohio State at Michigan State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Ohio State 45, Michigan State 17
Money line (ML)
Ohio State (-1667) will cost you nearly 17 times your potential return. Michigan State (+850) cannot be trusted, even though the Spartans have won both of their games outright as double-digit dogs against Michigan and Northwestern. PASS.
Against the spread (ATS)
OHIO STATE -23.5 (-110) is a strong play on the road. Yes, Sparty is coming off a nice win over Northwestern at home, but can they bring that kind of intensity again? Fields and the Ohio State offense is much more prolific, and the Michigan State defense will have few answers.
Michigan State is just 3-14 ATS in its past 17 at home, while Ohio State is 6-2 ATS in its past eight trips to East Lansing. The Spartans are also 3-10 ATS in their past 13 conference tilts, and 3-8 ATS in their past 11 against winning teams.
Over/Under (O/U)
OVER 59.5 (-110) is a decent play. You needn’t worry about Ohio State putting up the points. The worrisome part is Michigan State offering anything against the Buckeyes defense. Well, Ohio State has allowed 26.0 PPG, so the Buckeyes can be had, and they have allowed 31.0 PPG over their past two outings in wins over Rutgers and Indiana.
