Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (0-1) visit the Chase Center Friday to take on the Golden State Warriors (1-0). Tip is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Nuggets vs. Warriors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets enter this matchup having been blown out 123-102 as 6.5-point road favorites at the Utah Jazz Wednesday. Despite 27 points from C Nikola Jokic and 22 points from F Aaron Gordon, Denver only saw 24 points come from their bench – from just 3 players – which largely contributed to their horrific 2nd quarter in which they were outscored 38-23 as Utah blew the game open. Although it is early in the season, the bench scoring is going to have to improve, especially if they want to have a shot at taking down the 2022 reigning champions.

The Warriors opened up their season with a 123-109 home victory against the Los Angeles Lakers as 7.5-point favorites. Each starter was +11 or better while on the court Wednesday, a clear recipe for success.

As expected, Golden State saw a lot of their production from G Steph Curry (33) and G Klay Thompson (18), but F Andrew Wiggins (20) also stepped up big in the win. Only leading by 7 at the half, the Warriors extended their lead to 20 after the 3rd and never looked back. They shot 16-45 (35%) from 3 with Curry, Thompson, and Wiggins combining for 10 of them.

Nuggets at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 131, Nuggets 116

Moneyline

PASS.

Although the Warriors (-210) should win this game, the moneyline odds do not present enough return on investment in this one.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS -5.5 (-103).

Playing at home against a possibly bruised-up Nuggets team, expect the Warriors to win this one with a sizeable margin. With their pace, shooting and size underneath, they should be able to handle Jokic and company. They have an outstanding ability to move the ball and find the open man which, in part, is why they are the defending champions.

Over/Under

Lean the OVER 229.5 (-110).

With both teams’ ability to put the ball in the basket, the Over seems likely in this meeting. The Nuggets will be looking to bounce back from their embarrassing start to the season and the bench will look to pick up more slack, which will result in more points. Be careful though, if Murray is out of the lineup tonight, that could result in the Over needing a late-game push from a Warrior’s blowout.

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Game 5 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Game 5 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (1-3) visit the Chase Center Wednesday to take on the Golden State Warriors (3-1). Tip-off for the Western Conference first-round playoff game is 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nuggets vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Warriors lost for the first time in the series in Game 4, dropping the ball despite being tied late. F Draymond Green fouled out with minutes to go and Denver pulled away following a turnover on an out-of-bounds play.

The Warriors were one of two teams, Philadelphia the other, that couldn’t close out the series after going up 3-0. Denver won 126-121 as reigning MVP, and the current favorite for MVP, Nikola Jokic scored 37 points.

The difference for the Nuggets in Game 4 was that 3 other players went for 15 points or more. The Nuggets will need that help again if they hope to extend the series. Denver is 12-11 against the spread (ATS) as a road underdog.

Golden State has been incredible at home this season, ending with the second-best home record. The Warriors are 22-16-2 ATS as home favorite, the seventh-best covering rate in the league.

Nuggets at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 120, Nuggets 113

Money line

PASS.

The Warriors have championship DNA and should be able to close the series out, but betting on them with a -475 tag doesn’t make much sense. Only Denver at +340 has value, but I’d still pass there.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

LEAN to the WARRIORS -8.5 (-115).

The Warriors looked like the better side through 3 games and were clearly the more dominant team on their home court. Golden State won its 2 home games by a combined 36 points, easily covering both.

The Nuggets shot 56% from the field in Game 4 and 48% from deep, both clearly above their season averages.

Given the Warriors have the second-best defense in the league in terms of opponents’ shooting efficiency, expect that Nuggets number to regress as they travel West to California.

The Nuggets led the league in effective shooting percentage, so the Warriors’ defense, which helped propel their 2 blowout wins, should be on deck in Game 5.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 225.5 (-110).

The Over is 4-0 in this series, and there’s not much reason to think it’ll change anytime soon.

The Warriors’ main lineup, one that features three All-Stars, G Klay Thompson and G Jordan Poole, should get plenty of run and has a 147.8 offensive rating, having played 32 minutes this series. Golden State scored 123 and 126 at home in the series.

As noted, the Nuggets were the best shooting team in the regular season so their efficient Game 4 was to no one’s surprise. Denver was also the league’s best shooting road team. They’ve topped 105 in every game and 110 twice.

Expect them to pull their weight in helping the over connect.

Also, these teams ranked 3rd (Warriors) and 13th (Nuggets) in 3-point field goal attempts during the regular season. They’re both going to look to pour it in from deep in Game 5.

Considering that and how this series has gone, I’d continue to back the OVER 225.5 (-110).

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (0-1) visit the Chase Center Monday to take on the Golden State Warriors (1-0). Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nuggets vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Nuggets-Warriors playoff series kicked off Saturday night with the Dubs using a +12 second quarter and +9 third quarter to pull away. The final score was 123-107. The Over hit, and the Warriors covered as 6.5-point favorites.

Golden State was led by G Jordan Poole, who scored 30 points. G Stephen Curry played just 22 minutes, scoring 16. The Warriors are 42-37-4 against the spread (ATS) this season and 6-1 ATS in the last 7.

The Nuggets watched reigning MVP C Nikola Jokic struggle. He scored 25 points, but took 25 shots and had a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Denver is 2-5 ATS in its last 7. The Nuggets are 12-10 ATS as road underdogs this season. Golden State is 21-16-2 ATS as a home favorite.

Nuggets at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 118, Nuggets 110

Money line

PASS.

While the Warriors showed their championship DNA in Game 1, betting on them with a -320 tag doesn’t make much sense. Only Denver at +250 has value, but I’d still pass there.

Against the spread

LEAN to the WARRIORS -7.5 (-102).

Golden State is going to be contending for a title this season.

It has everything from experience to shooting to defense, and it showed that in Game 1. Having missed Draymond Green in all 4 regular-season matchups with Denver, the importance of the four-time All-Star was in full effect.

While the Nuggets have the No. 1 effective field goal rate, the Warriors rank second in opponents’ effective field goal shooting. Golden State’s defense held Denver to 31.4% shooting 3-pointers.

The Warriors were 16-for-35 from deep, the real difference in the game as the offensive rebounding, turnovers, and field goal shooting weren’t too far apart. The Nuggets sit 10th in opponents’ 3-point shooting.

Golden State’s strengths at home should again be on display in Game 2. It was dominant throughout the course Game 1 on both ends, and I expect to see that again in Game 2.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 223.5 (-112).

The Warriors-Nuggets combined for 230 in the first game. Denver shot just 31.4% from deep as well. If the Nuggets can step up their play a bit, the Over should be a solid play.

Denver is 5-2 O/U in its last 7. The Warriors are 3-1 O/U in their last 4 and should get more contributions from Curry, who played just 22 minutes in Game 1.

Also, Jokic shot just 48% from the field. He’s hit 50% in 59 of his 74 games. I would expect him to bounce back in Game 2. Combine what Jokic should do and a more involved Curry, and the Over is the stronger play.

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (32-25) stop by Chase Center Wednesday to play the Golden State Warriors (42-16) at 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nuggets vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Denver has won four out of its last five games (4-1 against the spread (ATS)) including two straight games at the Toronto Raptors (110-109 Saturday) and versus the Orlando Magic (121-111 Monday).

Golden State has dropped three of its last four games (0-4 ATS), which includes a 119-104 blowout loss to the Clippers in Los Angeles as a 6.5-point favorite Monday.

The Nuggets upset the Warriors 89-86 in Golden State Dec. 28 as 8-point underdogs.

Nuggets at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 112, Nuggets 109

Money line

PASS.

My favorite wager in this game is Denver’s first-half spread because Golden State typically gets out to slow starts and then turns it on in the second half. However, the Nuggets first-half money line isn’t fat enough to sprinkle on.

Against the spread

GIMME the NUGGETS +3.5 (-130) ALTERNATE FIRST-HALF SPREAD.

Denver has the fifth-best ATS return on investment (ROI) in the first half at 32-24-1 ATS while Golden State has the third-worst ATS ROI in the first half at 24-34 ATS, according to EVAnalytics.com.

The Nuggets are 3-0 ATS in the first half with a plus-7.0 scoring margin over the last three games while the Warriors are 0-3 ATS in the first half along that span.

However, in the second half, Golden State balls and Denver struggles. The Warriors have an NBA-best plus-5.4 second-half scoring margin and the Nuggets have a minus-1.6 second-half scoring margin (ranked 23rd).

There is also some value in the Nuggets +5.5 (-115) for the full game. Denver is 4-0 ATS in the last four games versus teams with a winning record and 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven road games.

For the record, the NUGGETS +3.5 (-130) ALTERNATE FIRST-HALF SPREAD is my best bet in this game.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 225.5 (-108) for a tiny wager, if at all, because Denver’s first-half spread is my favorite bet in this game and I don’t have a strong handicap for the Under.

However, the Under has cashed in five consecutive Nuggets-Warriors meetings, Denver is 0-4 O/U in the last four games versus teams with a winning record and Golden State is ranked 19th in adjusted offensive rating over the past two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

The Denver Nuggets (16-16) are on the road Tuesday night to face the Golden State Warriors (27-6). It is the first of two consecutive games between the two teams. Tuesday’s game tips off at 10 p.m. ET at Chase Center. Below, we look at the Nuggets vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Nuggets are coming off a 103-100 road win over the Paul George-less Los Angeles Clippers Sunday, snapping a two-game losing streak. C Nikola Jokic had 26 points and 22 rebounds in the win. The 100 points allowed were the fewest they have given up since 113-99 win over the Chicago Bulls  Dec. 4.

The Warriors have won three straight, including a Christmas Day win over the Phoenix Suns on the road. They again have the best record in the NBA. They are 16-2 this season at home. G Stephen Curry had 33 points in the win.

Nuggets at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 112, Nuggets 101

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Warriors are playing too well to lose to the Nuggets at home, and the line is such that it isn’t worth it to bet more than three times what you can win.

The Nuggets are also struggling a bit offensively. That won’t go well.

Against the spread

The Nuggets have failed to cover the spread in their last three games. They have the fourth-worst cover percentage in the league at 40.6%.

The Warriors have covered the spread in their last three and are No. 2 in the league against the spread at 21-10-2 ATS.

Take the WARRIORS -7.5 (-102).

Over/Under

The Nuggets had a 14-game stretch recently in which 13 of their games hit the Over, but their last three games have stayed Under the projected total.

The Warriors’ win over the Suns hit the Over but 12 of their last 16 games have stayed Under.

Take UNDER 217.5 (-115).

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Denver Nuggets (38-20) have a Friday night road game against the Golden State Warriors (29-30), who open a three-game homestand. Tip-off is at 10 p.m. ET in Chase Center. Below, we analyze the Nuggets-Warriors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets, who recently lost PG Jamal Murray to a torn ACL, have responded to the injury. They have won four games in a row in his absence and 12 of their last 14 overall. They are currently in fourth place in the West, 5.5 games out of the top seed.

Golden State wrapped up a five-game road trip, losing two of their last three. They hold a three-game lead for the 10 seed, the final spot for a play-in game. PG Stephen Curry has hit 10 or more three-point shots in four of his last six games, but shot 7-of-25 overall and 2-of-14 from three-point range in the Warriors’ 118-114 loss to the Washington Wizards Wednesday.

Nuggets at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 115, Nuggets 111

Money line (ML)

The Nuggets surprisingly have not lost since Murray tore his ACL. They have been strong on the road this season, going 18-10 and have won four straight road games.

Golden State has won five of its last seven games. They are getting MVP-level performance from Curry. In his last 12 games, he is averaging 38.1 points per game, scoring over 30 ten times and over 40 five times, including one over 50. The Warriors go the way Curry goes. Without Murray to make him work on defense, Curry should have a big game and keep the Warriors in it. Take the WARRIORS +125.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Warriors have covered the spread in five of their last seven games. Overall, they are 28-31 ATS. They are 16-11 ATS at home.

The Nuggets are 28-30 ATS this season and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games. They are 15-13 ATS as a road team.

Since we expect a Warriors straight-up win, the money line gives you better value, but if you want an extra couple points of cushion, you can still take them against the spread.

Take WARRIORS +3 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Warriors’ over percentage this season is only 40.7%, the second-lowest in the league. Their games have gone Over the total twice in the last six games. However, they have scored at least 114 points in six of their last seven games.

Denver has the fifth-highest over percentage in the league at 56.9% but is 2-3-1 O/U in its last six games.

It will be close, but take UNDER 229.5 POINTS (-110).

Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Denver Nuggets (34-19) are on the road Monday night to take on the Golden State Warriors (25-28), who close out a four-game homestand. They are scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET in Chase Center. Below, we analyze the Nuggets-Warriors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets are coming off a 105-87 home loss to the Boston Celtics Sunday, which closed out a five-game homestand and ended an eight-game winning streak. It was their first loss since trading for PF Aaron Gordon. They are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference and six games behind the conference-leading Utah Jazz.

The Warriors beat the Houston Rockets 125-109 Saturday night. They have struggled of late, going 3-8 in their last 11 games. They are 10th in the West and hold the final spot in the postseason play-in tournament with a tenuous one-game lead over the 11th-seeded New Orleans Pelicans.

Nuggets 125, Warriors 119

Denver is 3-1 ATS in its last four road games. Take the NUGGETS -4.5 (-110).

At 31-22 O/U, the Nuggets have the fifth-highest over percentage in the league at 58.5%. The Warriors have hit the fourth-fewest Overs at 41.5% but two of their last three games went Over the projected total.
