Former Notre Dame golfer gets conditional status for DP World Tour

Hopefully, we see big things from him.

Notre Dame will have a representative overseas during the upcoming golf season. [autotag]Palmer Jackson[/autotag], perhaps the best golfer in Irish history, has earned conditional status for the 2025 DP World Tour, also known as the European Tour.

Jackson finished this year’s DP World Tour Qualifying School in a tie for 30th by shooting a 16-under-par 412 over six rounds. That left him two strokes short of earning full-time status for the DP World Tour. So he will spend most of this upcoming season on the Challenge Tour, the European developmental tour for the DP World Tour.

This achievement comes five months after Jackson placed eighth at the national championship, the best finish ever for an Irish golfer at that event. While it already was obvious his career would go beyond his time with the Irish, that moment for him erased any lingering doubts one might have had.

Notre Dame men’s golf takes top billing in Fighting Irish Classic

Notre Dame men’s golf takes first on its home turf.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s golf team took first place in a key tournament this week, winning the Fighting Irish Classic at Warren Golf Course. Notre Dame was able to get the win on its home course.

Notre Dame was led by Nate Stevens and Rocco Salvitti, who each had four birdies in the first five holes. Salvitti finished 3 under par and in third place, while Stevens came in fifth with a score of 2 under par.

The Irish were up against Top 25 teams from Tennessee and Duke in the 15-team, 54-hole tournament.

It’s the second tournament win in three weeks for Notre Dame men’s golf.

Notre Dame men’s golf wins Canadian Collegiate Invitational

Congrats, Irish!

The Notre Dame men’s golf team had to make up 11 shots on the last day of the Canadian Collegiate Invitational to win it. With skill and a bit of luck (no pun intended), the Irish were able to make the shots necessary to do just that. They shot 17-under-par over the three rounds for a final score of 847, five shots better than Missouri and Michigan.

The Irish, who were tied with the Wolverines in second to start the final round, shot 6-under during the final round at Oviinbyrd Golf Club in MacTier, Ontario, benefiting from the Tigers shooting a 10-over. The Irish tied with fifth-place Michigan State for the best score of the round.

All four Irish golfers included in the scoring shot under par in the last round. [autotag]Nate Stevens[/autotag] and [autotag]Rocco Salvitti[/autotag] shot 2-under, and [autotag]Jacob Modleski[/autotag] and [autotag]Mike Qiu[/autotag] were 1-under. Stevens had the best overall score for the Irish, tying for eighth with a 6-under 210.

The Irish’s next tournament will be the Windon Memorial Classic, hosted by Northwestern on Sept. 29 and 30.
