The Delaware State Hornets (14-17) and North Carolina Central Eagles (18-12) meet in the semifinals of the MEAC Tournament Friday at the Norfolk (Va.) Scope Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Delaware State vs. North Carolina Central odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

No. 6 seed Delaware State surprised 3rd-seeded South Carolina State 71-58 Thursday night in the quarterfinals. The Hornets were a 2.5-point underdog, and the Under (134.5) connected. Del State entered the tournament just 1-4 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in the past 5 games.

No. 2 seed North Carolina Central took care of No. 7 seed Maryland-Eastern Shore in the Quarterfinals on Wednesday, but it was a tussle. The Eagles were 9-point favorites, but didn’t get separation against UMES until the final moments, winning 87-81 as the Over (133.5) easily connected.

NCCU faced Del State twice during the regular season, with the Eagles sweeping the series. It won 69-66 on the road Jan. 29 as a 2.5-point favorite as the Over (134) cashed, and it won 93-81 in Durham on Feb. 26 as a 6-point favorite, also hitting the Over (135.5). The Over is a common theme for the Eagles, cashing in 9 straight outings.

Delaware State vs. NC Central picks and predictions

Prediction

NC Central 78, Delaware State 69

Moneyline

North Carolina Central (-225) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return straight up, and while it swept the regular-season series with Delaware State (+180), that is still a rather risky play.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL -4.5 (-115) is worth a look, as the 2-seed looks to advance to the title game, and a chance at the automatic bid. The Eagles have been humming along with 5 wins in the past 6 games, while going 4-2 ATS during that span.

On the flip side, Delaware State +4.5 (-105) hasn’t been as consistent. The Hornets bumped off UMES to advance in the tourney, but it has won just twice in the past 6 games, and 4 times in the past 12, while going a dismal 2-4 ATS across the past 6, and 5-8 ATS in the previous 13 outings, including 0-2 ATS vs. NCCU.

Over/Under

OVER 137.5 (-105) is the best play on the board in this MEAC quarterfinal action.

The Eagles have been an Over machine lately, cashing high on the total in 9 consecutive outings dating back to Feb. 5. It also has cashed the Over in both regular-season meetings with Delaware State, including 174 combined points on a total of just 135.5 in the most recent meeting in Durham on Feb. 26.

Del State hasn’t been nearly as prolific, but the Over is 3-2 in the past 5 outings.

North Carolina Central at Morgan State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s North Carolina Central at Morgan State odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The North Carolina Central Eagles (16-11, 8-4 MEAC) pay a visit to the Morgan State Bears (9-19, 5-7) Monday. Tip-off from Hill Field House in Baltimore is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the North Carolina Central vs. Morgan State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

N.C. Central routed the Coppin State Eagles 83-58 Saturday while covering as an 8-point road favorite. The Eagles shot 51.8% from the field and 52.6% (10 of 19) from deep. They outrebounded Coppin State 36-29 and had just 9 turnovers to Coppin’s 15. N.C. Central has won 3 consecutive games and is 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last 4 games.

Morgan State lost 72-61 to the South Carolina State Bulldogs Saturday, failing to cover as a 1.5-point home underdog. Morgan State shot only 22.2% (2 of 9) from deep and turned the ball over 22 times in the loss. The Bears have lost 4 straight games, including back-to-back home games.

Morgan State upset North Carolina Central in the teams’ 1st meeting of the season, winning as an 8-point road underdog 79-72 in overtime Feb. 5. The Over (149) cashed thanks to the extra period — it was 65-65 after regulation.

North Carolina Central at Morgan State picks and predictions

Prediction

North Carolina Central 80, Morgan State 72

Moneyline

PASS.

North Carolina Central (-182) is 8-2 in its last 10 matchups vs. Morgan State and is 3-0 in its last 3 games, while Morgan State is 0-4 in its last 4. However, the Eagles are favored just slightly too much to risk betting on. Back the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

LEAN NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL -4.5 (-102).

N.C. Central has covered the spread in each of its last 4 games and is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games. The Eagles are also 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings with Morgan State.

The Eagles have been the better team ATS this season at 15-7-1, while the Bears are 12-12-1 ATS.

This is only a lean because the Bears have been competitive ATS in recent matchups vs. North Carolina Central, and because Morgan State has been just as good ATS in its last 10 games as the Eagles. They’re both 7-3 ATS in their last 10.

Over/Under

BET OVER 149.5 (-110).

The Over has hit in 6 consecutive games for N.C. Central and is 7-3 in its last 10 games.

The Over has also hit in 3 consecutive N.C. Central-Morgan State matchups and is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

The Over is also safer for both teams this season, being 13-10 for the Eagles and 13-11-1 for the Bears.

Celebration Bowl: Jackson State vs. North Carolina Central odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Jackson State vs. North Carolina Central odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Jackson State Tigers (12-0) take on the North Carolina Central Eagles (9-2) in the Celebration Bowl on Saturday. Kickoff from Mercedes-Benz Stadium is at noon ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Jackson State vs. North Carolina Central odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

This game between 2 HBCUs pits 2 of the best offenses in the FCS. Jackson State was 7th in the FCS with 38.0 points per game (PPG) while finishing 1st in the SWAC; North Carolina Central is 5th in the FCS with 38.4 PPG en route to a 1st place finish in the MEAC.

Jackson State’s defense has been better, but North Carolina Central can clamp down in the red zone when needed and allowed just 19 red-zone TDs on 34 attempts through 11 games while allowing just 22 total red-zone scores.

Tigers QB Shedeur Sanders will enter the transfer portal to head to Colorado and join his father, Buffaloes coach Deion. Sanders has thrown for more than 3,383 yards with 36 TDs and 6 INTs. He ran for almost 174 yards and 5 TDs while leading the Tigers to their undefeated record.

Eagles QB Davius Richard is also a dual threat. With 2,473 passing yards and 24 passing TDs to go with almost 691 rushing yards and 13 rush TDs. As good as the Jackson State defense has been, dual-threat QBs have been its kryptonite and Harris has the physical ability to give the Tigers fits if they do not contain him inside the pocket.

The true key to this game is the motivation of Jackson State. Do the Tigers want to give coach Prime a victory on the way out of town, or might they not show up? My feeling is that the former is more likely than the latter.

North Carolina Central also has a bit of motivation. The MEAC is 5-1 in this game against SWAC competition. The only loss for the conference came in 2016 when this Eagles team lost to Grambling State. They will want to finally gain a victory in this de facto HBCU National Championship game.

Jackson State vs. North Carolina Central picks and predictions

Prediction

Jackson State 35, North Carolina Central 27

Moneyline

PASS.

Jackson State is the better team. Despite all the upheaval with coach Sanders leaving, I do not see NC Central pulling off a major upset here. The talent is still on the side of the Tigers and there are no current opt-outs to worry about in this game. This makes the Tigers (-575) the likely victors but a wager on either side is both not worth the payout or the risk.

Against the spread

BET NC CENTRAL +14 (-109).

This one will be tough but with Richard being a dual threat, I think NC Central can keep this game close. While I do not see the Eagles winning, I can certainly believe they can keep it within 2 scores and a possible back door cover is in play.

Although NC Central does not rush the passer well and has just 18 sacks on the season, it has also only allowed just 19 TD in the red zone. The Eagles can clamp down when needed and they will certainly need to Saturday. This game could even come down to which team has more turnovers.

Give me NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL +14 (-109).

Over/Under

BET OVER 55 (-113).

Both Jackson State and North Carolina Central scored more than 38 points per game this season. While both defenses have been solid, the offenses will do enough to overcome this in the final game for coach Prime. He said he wants to finish business here before heading to Colorado. That means scoring and winning this game and that’s going to force the Eagles to try to keep up.

OVER 55 (-113) is my favorite play here.
