With Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Pearson making the announcement, the Dallas Cowboys selected Michigan tight end Luke Schoonmaker with the No. 58 pick in the 2023 NFL draft. With the departure of Dalton Schultz, a tight end selection seemed inevitable and it comes on Day 2.

A two-time All-Big Ten selection as a Wolverine, Schoonmaker had career highs in catches and yards with 35 receptions and 418 yards. With a large frame at 6-foot-5, Schoonmaker enters a tight end room filled with young talent.

Dallas selected Wisconsin’s Jake Ferguson in the fourth round last year and signed UDFA Peyton Hendershot. Schoonmaker could lead a three-headed monster who is a premiere blocker and a quality athlete for quarterback Dak Prescott to work with in the middle of the field.
