Tennessee redshirt sophomore wide receiver enters the NCAA transfer portal.

Tennessee redshirt sophomore wide receiver Nigel Lanier entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday.

“Lastly, I want to say thank you to Vol nation for making my experience here better than I ever could have imagined it to be, and with that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal with three years of eligibility,” Lanier announced.

The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver came to Tennessee from North Jackson High School in Stevenson, Alabama.

Lanier committed to the Vols on May 6, 2021.

He did not record any statistics at Tennessee.

Nigel Lanier commits to Tennessee

Tennessee Vols’ football recruiting news.

Wide receiver Nigel Lanier announced Thursday he is committed to the University of Tennessee.

“After a lot of of prayer, talking with my family, coaches and pastors, I have made the decision to commit to the University of Tennessee,” Lanier said on Twitter. “I am blessed to be able to play at the next level and most importantly continue my education.”

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Class of 2021 wide receiver is from North Jackson High School in Stevensen, Alabama.

Lanier has scholarship offers from Erskine College, Miles College and Presbyterian.
