CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Reds center fielder Nick Senzel picked up his first hit since returning from the injured list earlier this week.

Senzel, a former star for the University of Tennessee, doubled Saturday night in the Reds’ 5-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox at Great American Ball Park.

Senzel, who returned from an extended month-long stay on the injured list on Sept. 14, has appeared in three games since coming back and is now 1-for-10 since his return.

He is now batting a paltry .218 with two home runs and eight runs batted in. The former Vol has two stolen bases, seven runs scored and six doubles.

Prior to playing for UT, Senzel was an All-State standout at Farragut High School, a powerhouse program in Tennessee.

CINCINNATI — After a month away, Nick Senzel returned to the Cincinnati Reds’ lineup Monday.

Senzel, Cincinnati’s starting center fielder, had been on the injury list since Aug. 14 due to an undisclosed ailment.

The No. 2 overall selection in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft was hitless in the Reds’ 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park. He went 0-for-3 in a seven-inning contest that was the first game of a double-header.

He did not play in the second game, a 9-4 victory for the Reds.

Senzel was an All-State player during his high school days at Farragut High School and went on to star for the University of Tennessee baseball team.

Senzel, who has been shelved since mid-August due to an undisclosed ailment, is batting in the seventh spot for the Reds in the first game of their double-header against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park.

Senzel, an All-State player at Farragut High School in the Knoxville Area before starring for the University of Tennessee for three seasons, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

He last played on Aug. 14 when the Reds defeated the Pirates, 8-1, in Cincinnati.

Senzel is batting .244 with two home runs and eight runs batted in. He has also scored seven runs.

CINCINNATI — Just when it appeared that Nick Senzel was finding his groove at the plate this season, he has been derailed a bit due to circumstances beyond his control.

Senzel, the Cincinnati Reds starting center fielder, went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and four runs batted in Thursday night in the Reds 9-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He drew a walk in the following game Friday night, and had an unexpected weekend off.

The final two games of the weekend series against the Pirates have been postponed because an unnamed Cincinnati player that has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Reds are scheduled to return to action Monday night in Kansas City.

Senzel, an All-State player during his days at Farragut High School, went on to be a star at the University of Tennessee before being the No. 2 overall draft pick by the Reds in 2016.

He is batting .244 with two homers, five doubles. seven runs and eight RBIs and a stolen base in 2020.

CINCINNATI — In his second game back from injury, Cincinnati Reds’ center fielder Nick Senzel was held hitless and stranded five teammates on base.

Senzel, a former Farragut High School star and University Tennessee standout, went 0-for-3 in the Reds’ 5-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals Wednesday night.

Senzel, who had batted in the leadoff spot in his last two outings, returned to the sixth slot and the heart of the Reds’ lineup Wednesday. He scored, had one hit, a stolen base and scored the winning run for Cincinnati Tuesday in its 10-inning 6-5 victory over the Royals.

He missed games on Saturday and Sunday after exiting Friday’s game in Milwaukee with groin stiffness on Friday.

Senzel a former No. 2 draft pick for the Reds in 2016, is batting .211 this season.

Senzel had a 10th-inning single and scored the winning run as the Reds edged the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park.

He went 1-for-5, batting in the leadoff spot for the second time this season, but singled in the extra frame. Senzel came home with the game winner when Joey Votto doubled.

Senzel left Friday night’s game in Milwaukee with groin stiffness in the fourth inning and sat out the rest of the weekend.

The former All-State standout from Farragut High School and one-time University of Tennessee star is batting .229 with one home run, four RBIs and a stolen base.

He was removed from Friday night’s game, an 8-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park, in the fourth inning due to groin stiffness.

Senzel was batting in the leadoff spot of manager David Bell’s lineup for the first time this season and had a walk and an RBI before being taken out of the game.

He then missed the final two games of the series.

The Reds are off Monday before returning to home to face the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.

The team is hoping to have him back upon its return home.

Senzel played baseball for the University of Tennessee after enjoying a stellar career at Farragut High School.

Senzel, who is hitting .233, was taken out of the contest due to groin stiffness. It is unclear when he will return for the Reds.

Senzel, a former University of Tennessee standout and Farragut High School graduate, is now batting .304 with a home run and three runs batted in.

In his most recent game, Senzel went 1-for-2 with a walk as the Reds dropped a 4-2 decision to their in-state interleague rivals, the Cleveland Indians, Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park.

With the loss, the Reds dropped to 5-6 on the season.

Senzel, the No. 2 overall draft pick by Cincinnati in 2016, played three seasons with the Volunteers, earning multiple honors. He was also an All-State performer in high school for the Admirals.

CINCINNATI — Former University of Tennessee baseball player Nick Senzel is hitless through the first two games of the 2020 baseball season.

Senzel, a center fielder for Cincinnati, however, did walk and score a run in the Reds’ 6-4 loss to the Detroit Tigers Saturday. He went 0-for-3 for Cincinnati (1-1).

A Farragut High School graduate, Senzel went 0-4 in Cincinnati’s 7-1 victory over Detroit Friday at Great American Ball Park.

He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

Senzel made his Major League debut for the Reds on May 3, 2019. He posted a solid rookie season for Cincinnati, batting .256 while clubbing 12 homers and driving in 42 runs.
