For the just second time in franchise history, the Atlanta Falcons will open the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The last time these two faced off in Week 1, the Steelers scored the game’s first touchdown in overtime to squeak out a 19-16 win.

It’s been almost 20 years since the Falcons last defeated the Steelers. To further emphasize the one-sided history, Atlanta’s two career wins over Pittsburgh were nearly 30 years apart.
The Falcons are slight favorites entering this Week 1 matchup, so perhaps they can get their third-ever victory over the Steelers this weekend. There are plenty of storylines to follow in Sunday’s game, including the return of former head coach Arthur Smith and running back Cordarrelle Patterson.
