New York Jets’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 8:45 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 6.5 / OVER: -106 / UNDER: -115

The Jets were better than most believed because of their defense. Darnold has to take another step in his development, but head coach Adam Gase is not the guy to bring that out of him. That said, the line is tough because they are a six or seven-win team likely. The division got a little weaker with quarterback Tom Brady moving on to Tampa. It’s not a confident pick, but go with the OVER 6.5 WINS (-106).

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Over will profit $9.43 if the Jets win at least seven games.

Exact season wins: Bands

0-4 wins: +525

5-8 wins: -323

9-12 wins: +425

13-16 wins: +8000

This is easy. They shouldn’t be awful with their defense. They won’t be good. That’s why you won’t win much money in this wager. But it is a pretty sure thing. Take 5-8 WINS (-323).

Exact wins: Best bet

Both six wins and seven wins are the favorites, both at +280. The Jets are curious enough that I would hedge. Go with bets on both six and seven wins. If you hit on one, you still come ahead +140.

New York Giants’ 2019 season

2019 was not good for New York. They transitioned from Eli Manning to rookie Daniel Jones at quarterback and dealt with injuries and a bad defense. They finished 4-12 and fired their coaching staff. They went 7-9 ATS and 10-6 O/U

New York Giants’ 2020 offseason changes

The Giants hired Joe Judge as their new head coach and made former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett offensive coordinator. They added LB Blake Martinez and CB James Bradberry. They also signed OT Cameron Fleming and drafted OT Andrew Thomas in the first round.

New York Giants’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 8:00 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 6.5 / OVER: +135 / UNDER: -164

The Giants have a very tough schedule, with only a couple of teams who would be considered certain wins. They might win two games in the division After that, they play tough teams. They might win three more games, four if everything goes well. That maybe gets them to six wins. Take the UNDER 6.5 WINS (-164).

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Under will profit $6.10 if the Giants win fewer than seven games.

Exact season wins: Bands

0-4 wins: +370

5-8 wins: -313

9-12 wins: +600

13-16 wins: +6500

The Giants shouldn’t be awful, but they won’t make it over .500. There’s not much in the way of value, but the best bet is 5-8 WINS (-313).

Exact wins: Best bet

The betting favorite is six wins at +270, followed by seven wins at +290. Five wins is slightly longer at +325. Their ceiling is probably six wins, but I’m taking 5 WINS (+325).

How many games will the New Orleans Saints win in 2020?

Assessing the New Orleans Saints’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the New Orleans Saints win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM’s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

New Orleans Saints’ 2019 season

The 2019 season was a wild one for the Saints. They lost starting QB Drew Brees in the second game of the season, forcing QB Teddy Bridgewater into action. All Bridgewater did was lead them on a 5-0 run starting in Week 3. Brees returned to the lineup in Week 8 and the Saints finished 13-3 and as the No. 3 seed in the NFC. But despite their fantastic record, they were upset at home in the Wild Card round by the Minnesota Vikings.

New Orleans Saints’ 2020 offseason changes

Bridgewater left the team in free agency for the divisional-rival Carolina Panthers. However, the Saints were able to replace him with another familiar face in QB Jameis Winston. They also added more pieces to their offense, signing veteran WR Emmanuel Sanders and drafting Michigan OL Cesar Ruiz in the first round. On defense, they added two former Philadelphia Eagles in LB Nigel Bradham and FS Malcolm Jenkins, who played his first five seasons in New Orleans.

New Orleans Saints’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Monday, Aug. 10 at 5:50 p.m. ET.

Projected wins: 10.5 / OVER: +100 / UNDER: -120

The 10.5 O/U that feels far too low considering how successful the Saints have been as of late. They have won at least 11 games each of the past three seasons, including back-to-back 13-3 campaigns the last two seasons. With arguably the best roster in the NFL, take the OVER 10.5 and run as the Saints should be considered among the best two or three teams in the league again this season.

Also see:

Exact season wins: Bands

  • 0-4 wins: +6500
  • 5-8 wins: +475
  • 9-12 wins: –358
  • 13-16 wins: +550

If the O/U on the win total feels too risky of a bet, consider taking the exact WIN BAND OF 9-12 wins for the Saints. While the payoff isn’t great (-358), it’s hard to envision the Saints winning less than nine games this season, even if an injury were to happen to Brees. With Winston as the team’s backup quarterback and one of the league’s best defenses, this team has the depth to survive a host of injuries. Consider the Saints a lock to win at least nine games this season with a chance to get back to 13 or 14 wins once again.

Exact wins: Best bet

If you are searching for the bet with the most value, consider taking the Saints to win EXACTLY 13 GAMES (+725). While the end of their schedule could be tough with games against the Chiefs and Vikings, the Saints will likely be favored in both of those since they’ll be in New Orleans. Considering the depth and talent on this team, it feels likely that it can repeat last year’s success.

How many games will the New England Patriots win in 2020?

Assessing the New England Patriots’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the New England Patriots win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

New England Patriots’ 2019 season

The Patriots got off to a red-hot start last season, winning their first eight games behind a historically dominant defense. They understandably stumbled against the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs, but their loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 was alarming.

After going 12-4 in the regular season, New England was upset by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the playoffs, 20-13. The Patriots were only 8-8-1 ATS last season, and if not for an outstanding defense, they likely wouldn’t have won more than 10 games.

New England Patriots’ 2020 offseason changes

The Patriots roster was ravaged by departures this offseason, beginning with QB Tom Brady in free agency. TE Rob Gronkowski was traded to Tampa Bay after sitting out last season, and LBs Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy left as free agents, too.

LB Dont’a Hightower and S Patrick Chung opted out of the 2020 season, as did FB James Develin and five others. They added S Kyle Dugger and LB Josh Uche early in the draft, but this offseason was more about departures than arrivals in New England.

Late in the process, the Patriots did add QB Cam Newton, which was by far their biggest signing.

New England Patriots’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Monday, Aug. 10 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Projected wins: 9.5 / OVER: +105 / UNDER: -125

The Patriots are going to look very different this season without Brady and key defenders, but they still have WR Julian Edelman, a decent offensive line and a secondary that features CB Stephon Gilmore. The division isn’t terribly difficult, either, even with the Dolphins and Bills on the uptrend.

Two games against the Jets are very favorable, but there are no other easy games on the schedule. They’ll face the daunting NFC West, the likes of the Ravens and Chiefs, all without their future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Still, I think Bill Belichick will find a way to make it work and win at least 10 games as he has in each of the last 17 years. Bet the OVER (+105).

How many games will the Jacksonville Jaguars win in 2020?

Assessing the Jacksonville Jaguars’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Jacksonville Jaguars win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2019 season

The 2019 season for the Jaguars couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start. In the opening game, QB Nick Foles injured his shoulder and missed most of the season. They were then forced to start a sixth-round pick at quarterback in Gardner Minshew for most of the season.

The Jaguars were up and down for most of the year, and finished the season at 6-10 and in fourth-place in the AFC South.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2020 offseason changes

While the Jaguars didn’t make a change at starting quarterback after trading Foles to the Chicago Bears, nearly every other position was upgraded in the offseason.

The team used its two first-round picks on the defensive side of the ball, selecting CB CJ Henderson and DE K’Lavon Chaisson. The team also used free agency to upgrade their roster, signing LB Joe Schobert and TE Tyler Eifert.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Sunday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Projected wins:  5 … OVER: +135   / UNDER: -164

The Jaguars are in the midst of a rebuild after tearing down a 2017 roster that reached the AFC Championship game. While the team does have a lot of talent on defense, it’s the offense that needs some time to retool.

The 2020 season will be a success if Minshew proves to be a franchise quarterback, but don’t expect that to happen while he’s playing behind a suspect offensive line.

The Jaguars play in one of the deepest divisions in the NFL and it seems unlikely they will be able to win more than five games this season. Consider taking the UNDER 5 (-110) here as the Jaguars could potentially hold the No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft.

Exact season wins: Bands

  • 0-4 wins: -105
  • 5-8 wins: -125
  • 9-12 wins: +2000
  • 13-16 wins: +10000

If you are thinking about betting on the under for wins for the Jaguars, consider making an exact wins bet. The 0-4 wins band pays -105, which is a considerably better value than the Under.

If you believe five wins it the right number of wins for the 2020 Jaguars, the 5-8 wins band pays out -125, which is still a better value than the Over win total due to a potential push.

Of the two bets, take the 0-4 wins band as it provides the more likely outcome for Jacksonville.

Exact wins: Best bet

The best value bet on the board is predicting the exact number of wins the Jaguars will have this season. With the Over/Under set at 5, you can bet on exactly 5 wins at +255. With the roster not being significantly worse than last season, it’s not hard to imagine the Jaguars defense will keep them in a few contests. Given the odds, take Jacksonville to win exactly 5 (+255) games this season.
