NFL Parlay Payday: Top Week 2 parlay to bank on

Put these five NFL Week 2 bets into a parlay and we’ll get paid exponentially if all five bets hit.

A parlay is the juiciest bet on the menu—a multiple team/total bet where all the legs need to win for the bet to cash—because it’s the riskiest play to make. A 5-bet NFL parlay is no small feat but luckily for us, BetMGM has a ton of pricing and line options building a winner.

Since the parlay is a multiplier bet, we’re going to be taking more expensive sides and totals to increase our win probability while still hitting a nice payout.

Leg 1: Eagles (-125) vs. Rams

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:40 a.m. ET.

Philadelphia opened up as a -130 favorite but Los Angeles was bet up earlier in the week and now the market has bought back the Eagles (-125) to nearly their opening price.

Seventy-four percent of the bets placed are on the Rams but only 59% of the cash wagered is on them. What this info implies is that the public is on the Rams heavier than the sharps. The public took Los Angeles after watching them win on Sunday Night Football in Week 1 and we want to fade the public.

Leg 2: Colts (-167) vs. Vikings

Indianapolis ruined a ton of survivor league entries with its Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars but that loss cheapened the Colts (-167) price. When you dig into the numbers of Indy’s loss there are positive takeaways. The Colts didn’t punt once, outgained the Jaguars in total yards, 445-241, and they had a plus-three sack differential.

Minnesota got demolished by the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, losing 43-34. The Vikings replaced their secondary this offseason with unproven, inexperienced cornerbacks who got carved up by Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Philip Rivers and T.Y. Hilton will have similar success as Rodgers and Davante Adams, making the Colts (-167) easy money for the straight up win.

Get some action on these NFL games or others by placing a legal sports bet in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM Sportsbook. Bet now!

Leg 3: Seahawks (-200) vs. Patriots

New England picked off Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick three times and held the Dolphins to just 11 points in Week 1. The Patriots defense isn’t going to feast on Russell Wilson like they did Fitzmagic. Bill Belichick’s praise of Wilson in the media this week says all you need to know about Wilson.

Furthermore, the acquisition of S Jamal Adams should pay off in this matchup. Adams led the Seahawks (-200) in tackles, tackles for loss and added a sack and two QB hits in Week 1. His presence will reduce the danger of Cam Newton making plays with his feet.

While it’s not the same home situation because of the circumstances, Wilson and the Seahawks have been nearly unbeatable at home in primetime.

Leg 4: Chiefs (-6.5, -162) at Chargers

Let’s finagle with the prices a little and get the Chiefs’ spread below the key number of seven from the current spread of Chiefs -8.5 (-110). Every one of their key players from the Super Bowl LIV run made a contribution in Kansas City’s 34-20 Week 1 win over the Houston Texans.

The Chargers looked unimpressive squeaking past the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. We’re playing it a bit safe but the Chiefs will win by at least a touchdown.

Leg 5: Panthers-Buccaneers Under 48.5 points (-139)

We’re going to revisit the “key number” thing and buy the Panthers-Buccaneers total up to 48.5 (-139). Bucs QB Tom Brady struggled against a good New Orleans Saints defense in Week 1 and he’ll be without Pro Bowl WR Chris Godwin in this game.

The Buccaneers should have success against a bad Panthers defense but that success will come in the form of long, time-consuming drives. Tampa Bay’s defense has a lot less hype but is the better unit. They should make it tough for the new-look Panthers offense to move the ball.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans odds, picks and best bets

Previewing the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans Week 2 betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) and Tennessee Titans (1-0) tangle in a Week 2 AFC South showdown at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Kickoff is Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (on CBS). Here, we analyze the Week 2 matchup, including the Jaguars-Titans betting odds and lines, and look at the best NFL betting options.

Jaguars at Titans betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 3:16 p.m. ET

  • Money line: Jaguars +295 (Bet $100, win $295) | Titans -385 (bet $385, win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Jaguars +7.5 (-110) | Titans -7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 44.5 (O: -110, U: -110)

Place your legal, online NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Jaguars at Titans game notes

  • Many talking heads expected the Jaguars to struggle this season, but QB Gardner Minshew and company have different ideas. They opened with a stunning 27-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1, winning outright as a touchdown underdog at home.
  • Minshew tossed three touchdowns in the opener, including a hook-up with rookie WR Laviska Shenault Jr. RB James Robinson sits atop the backfield depth chart after the team jettisoned RB Leonard Fournette earlier in the month. Robinson had 17 total touches for 90 yards from scrimmage to lead all Jacksonville backs.
  • Titans PK Stephen Gostkowski had an adventure against the Denver Broncos Monday night, misfiring on three field-goal attempts and a point after try. He was still trusted in the final minute, and he split the uprights on a 25-yarder to seal the win. Most side bettors and total bettors alike do not enjoy kicking woes.
  • Titans WR Corey Davis posted his first 100-yard game since Nov. 11, 2018. The Tennessee offense was balanced, totaling 377 yards with 247 through the air and 130 on the ground. The Titans also won the turnover battle 1-0.
  • The Jaguars are 0-4-1 ATS in their past five trips to Nashville, and 1-5 ATS in the previous six head-to-head meetings. The home team is 8-2-1 ATS in the past 11 in this series, with the favorite 7-3-1 ATS during the span. The Over hit in four of the past five in Music City.

Jaguars at Titans key injuries

Titans

  • WR A.J. Brown (knee) out
  • CB Malcolm Butler (quadriceps) questionable
  • LB Vic Beasley Jr. (knee) questionable

Jaguars at Titans: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction

Prediction

Titans 27, Jaguars 16

Moneyline (?)

The Titans (-385) are heavy favorites at home, and they should be able to win, but the Jaguars (+295) have already stunned one division rival as a touchdown underdog, so let Week 1 serve as a cautionary tale.

Nothing is a sure thing. AVOID.

Against the Spread (?)

I like the TITANS (-7.5, -110) in this one despite the uprising of the Jaguars (+7.5, -110) last week in the opener. Jacksonville never seems to fare well in Nashville, and the Titans won’t (or shouldn’t) leave a ton of points on the board like they did in Denver. They’re a lot better than the 16-14 win they put up Monday, and the Jaguars overperformed.

Expect both sides to play much closer to their capabilities Sunday, which means a double-digit difference.

Over/Under (?)

The lean is to OVER 44.5 (-110), but I wouldn’t start searching the couch cushions and looking under the car seats for extra money to bet the farm.

If it goes Over it will likely be sometime in the fourth quarter. The Jags hit the Over in Week 1, while the Titans won a low-scoring game. Tennessee will be able to do more this week as they get back on track offensively.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 2 betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers renew acquaintances at Raymond James Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (on FOX). Below, we analyze the Week 2 matchup, including the Panthers-Buccaneers betting odds and lines, and make our NFL picks and best bets.

Panthers at Buccaneers betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 2:45 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Buccaneers -385 (bet $385, win $100) | Panthers +300 (Bet $100, win $340)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Buccaneers -8 (-110) | Panthers +8 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (O: -110, U: -110)

Place your legal, online NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Panthers at Buccaneers game notes

  • The Panthers lost a 34-30 heartbreaker on their home field against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1. The Panthers were able to move the ball fine, but they had trouble stopping the Raiders. Carolina coughed up 372 total yards, including 239 through the air.
  • Carolina was efficient on offense as QB Teddy Bridgewater led the team to 388 total yards, 260 passing yards and 128 yards on the ground. The Panthers also didn’t turn the ball over, which was a very good sign.
  • Buccaneers QB Tom Brady made his highly-anticipated debut in a head-to-head battle with future Hall of Famer Drew Brees. Brady struggled a bit, tossing two interceptions, including a pick-six in a 34-23 road loss at the New Orleans Saints.
  • Both teams will be looking for their first cover. Both went Over in Week 1.
  • The Bucs stunned the Panthers in Charlotte, winning outright as a 6.5-point dog last Sept. 12. Carolina returned the favor with a 37-26 win in London later in the 2019 season. The Over/Under split 1-1 in those two meetings.

Panthers at Buccaneers key injuries

Panthers

  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos (concussion) out
  • DT Kawann Short (foot) foot

Buccaneers

  • WR Chris Godwin (concussion) doubtful

Panthers at Buccaneers: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction

Prediction

Buccaneers 26, Panthers 20

Moneyline (?)

The Buccaneers (-385) are expected to start their home schedule off with a win, heavily favored against the division-rival Panthers (+300). However, you can never justify laying this kind of money for such a small return. AVOID.

Against the Spread (?)

The PANTHERS (+8, -110) have really struggled against the number on grass, going 0-6-1 ATS in their past seven on the surface type. The Bucs (-8, -110) meanwhile, are just 1-5 ATS in their past six inside the division, including last week’s non-cover. Picking Tampa to lay these kinds of points with Evans and Godwin nicked up and potentially missing the game is a concern. No, thank you. Take the big dogs here. Plus, Carolina is 6-1 ATS in its past seven in the shadows of the pirate ship at the Ray Jay.

Over/Under (?)

UNDER 47.5 (-110) is going to be awfully close, but I don’t see the Panthers offense being nearly as efficient as it was in Week 1. On the flip side, I think the Bucs are a little bit better, but they’re still jelling as a unit, and it will take some time. This won’t be a defensive slog, but it isn’t going into the 50’s, either.

Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles odds, picks and best bets

Previewing the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles Week 2 betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Los Angeles Rams (1-0) are seeking another 2-0 start to the season Sunday as they travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles (0-1), who blew a 17-point lead in a 27-17 loss to the Washington Football Team in Week 1. Kickoff from Lincoln Financial Field is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Rams-Eagles betting odds and lines and make our NFL picks and best bets.

Rams at Eagles betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 2:35 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Rams +110 (bet $100, win $110) | Eagles -128 (Bet $128, win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Rams +2 (-110) | Eagles -2 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 45.5 (O: -110, U: -110)

Get some action on this NFL game or others by placing a legal sports bet in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM Sportsbook. Bet now!

Rams at Eagles game notes

  • Rams head coach Sean McVay is 4-0 in 1 p.m. ET games.
  • The Eagles allowed eight sacks in Week 1, which is twice as many as any other team in the NFL.
  • The Rams are 0-6 straight up and against the spread in their last six games against the Eagles.
  • The Rams have won their first road game in each of the last three seasons.
  • The total went Under in the Rams’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, but Over in the Eagles’ 27-17 loss to Washington in Week 1.

Rams at Eagles key injuries

Rams

  • TE Gerald Everett (back) questionable

Eagles

  • WR Alshon Jeffery (foot) out
  • DE Brandon Graham (concussion) questionable
  • DE Derek Barnett (hamstring) questionable

Rams at Eagles: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction

Prediction

Rams 24, Eagles 21

Money line (?)

This game is essentially a toss-up, as evidenced by the money line on both sides and the 2-point spread. The Rams will be facing a vastly different Eagles team than the one Washington beat in Week 1.

With the Eagles expected to have OT Lane Johnson, RB Miles Sanders and DT Javon Hargrave all healthy, they’ll be in better shape than they were in the season opener. Still, the Rams are healthy and coming off a statement win, boasting a balanced offensive attack and aggressive defense.

Take the RAMS (+110) to win outright.

Against the spread (?)

The Rams are 2-point underdogs over Philadelphia. Although the Eagles have had the Rams’ number, this is a very winnable game for Los Angeles, even with the Eagles healthier coming into Week 2.

The small spread has minimal impact, which is why I’m going with the RAMS +2 (-110) to cover the 1-point margin and still win in a close one.

Over/Under (?)

The Over/Under is lower for the Rams this week, but the total is higher than the Eagles saw in the season opener. At 45.5 points, it’s not overly high, but these teams both have strong defenses with dominant interior defenders and elite corners.

The offenses will get their points, but not enough to put the total Over 45.5. Take the UNDER 45.5 (-110).

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers odds, picks and best bets

Previewing the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers Week 2 betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Green Bay Packers (1-0) host the NFC North-rival Detroit Lions (0-1) in Week 2 at Lambeau Field. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Lions-Packers betting odds and lines and make our NFL picks and best bets.

Aaron Rodgers erupted in Green Bay’s 43-34 Week 1 win over the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit ripped defeat out of the jaws of victory in its 27-23 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Lions at Packers betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Lions +225 (Bet $100, win $225) | Packers -278 (bet $278, win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Lions +6 (-110) | Packers -6 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 49.5 (O: -110, U: -110)

Get some action on this NFL game or others by placing a legal sports bet in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM Sportsbook. Bet now!

Lions at Packers game notes

  • The Lions are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against the Packers and 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Green Bay.
  • Detroit blew a three-score lead heading into the fourth quarter of its Week 1 loss to Chicago.
  • Rodgers was surgical against the Vikings in Week 1: He had the second-highest QBR in Week 1 (92.9) and the fourth-highest completion percentage above expectation, according to NFL’s Next Gen stats.
  • Green Bay’s run game complemented Rodgers nicely. The Packers averaged 4.9 yards per rushing attempt and added one touchdown in Week 1.
  • Since 2017, the Packers have covered the spread in only 42% (8-11 ATS) of division games.

Lions at Packers key injuries

Lions

  • CB Desmond Trufant (hamstring) out
  • WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring) out

Packers

  • DT Kenny Clark (groin) out

Lions at Packers: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction

Prediction

Packers 24, Lions 20

Money line (?)

PASS ON THE MONEY LINE because of Detroit’s troubling injury report.

The Packers (-278) and Rodgers put it on the Vikings in Week 1, as Green Bay feasted against a weak Minnesota secondary. WR Davante Adams went off for 14 catches, 156 yards and two receiving TDs.

The Lions’ (+225) have their own concerns in the secondary. Trufant is out, Darryl Roberts is listed as questionable and rookie CB Jeff Okudah will be making his first start this week and will be assigned to Adams. Not an easy first week of work.

Also, there are a couple of injuries on Detroit’s offensive line so Green Bay edge rushers Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith may be in Matthew Stafford‘s face all afternoon.

Against the spread (?)

The Lions +6 (-110) have played the Packers -6 (-110) tough over recent seasons—winning four of their past six meetings and covering the spread in all six. Detroit is getting some value because of a trademark Lions fourth-quarter collapse in Week 1 and Green Bay bullied a Vikings team that’s in for a down year.

These teams know each other and both QBs are healthy. No home crowd plus no weather takes away most of the Lambeau edge. TAKE LIONS +6 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The Lions and Packers have gone Under the total in three straight meetings and 96% of the cash wagered is on Over, according to Pregame.com. I’d rather be on the side of the house, especially if it’s as lopsided.

Green Bay will be without Clark and Detroit has a good backfield featuring an Adrian Peterson who looked like his old self in Week 1. The Lions will try to keep Rodgers off the field to protect their banged-up secondary and play a little keep away.

I LEAN UNDER 49.5 (-110).

A “lean” is not necessarily a bet. Proceed at your own caution.

Patriots at Seahawks game notes

  • The new-look Patriots eased past the visiting Miami Dolphins by a 21-11 score, as QB Cam Newton kicked off the post-Tom Brady era with 15-of-19 passing for 155 yards and he also rushed for a game-high 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 attempts.
  • The Seahawks did the difficult Week 1 trip from Pacific to Eastern Time Zone for a 1 pm kick, but they rolled up a 38-25 win despite the fact they were actually outgained 506 to 383 yards of total offense.
  • Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was nearly perfect, completing 31 of 35 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns, and he also ran for a team-high 29 yards.
  • Perhaps the only thing Seattle didn’t do well in Week 1 was their third-down efficiency, as they were just 3-of-9 (.333) in that department.
  • Seattle was a plus-2 in the turnover department in Week 1, and New England was also plus-2.

Patriots at Seahawks: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction

Prediction

Seahawks 27, Patriots 20

Money line (?)

The Seahawks (-205) are a little too rich for my blood, as I would never risk more than two times my potential return, especially against a well-coached team like the Patriots (+170). That’s just not good gambling over the long term. If anything, the Pats are a strong value as moderate ‘dogs. AVOID.

Against the spread (?)

The SEAHAWKS (-4, -110) looked like one of the best teams in the NFC, but it would be nice to see them establish the run a little bit. Wilson cannot do it all himself. Still, even if they are a bit one dimensional in this game, they should be all right. Jamal Adams is going to make life tough for Cam Newton, and he won’t have nearly the same kind of success running the ball like he did in his team debut against Miami.

Over/Under (?)

OVER 44.5 (-110) is a “lean” in the SNF game, although last season we saw the Under go 1-7 in the first eight Sunday nighters, and the Under hit last weekend in the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams. Still, this is a rather low number for two explosive playmaking quarterbacks.
