The Atlanta Falcons conducted two interviews for the team’s vacant general manager position on Friday. Former Texans GM, Rick Smith, and current Falcons director of college scouting, Anthony Robinson, were the two candidates interviewed, the team announced on Friday evening.

Smith is the more known commodity, despite the fact that Robinson has worked with the Falcons for the past 13 seasons. Smith was the GM of the Texans for 12 years, building a talented roster before Bill O’Brien burned it all down.
Robinson has worked in a talented scouting department that’s uncovered players like DT Grady Jarrett and LB Foye Oluokun in mid-late rounds of the draft.
It was also reported a few weeks ago that current ESPN analyst and former Eagles scouting director, Louis Riddick, is being considered for the Falcons general manager position.
There haven’t been any names mentioned by the team in relation to the next head coach, although Raheem Morris has earned the right to finish out the season as Atlanta’s interim coach.
