Igor Shesterkin (26-10-7, 2.65 GAA, .910 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Carter Hart (16-19-9, 2.94 GAA, .908 SV%, 1 SO)

Shesterkin turned in his best performance of February against the Kings, turning aside 26 of the 28 shots he faced. It doesn’t sound terribly impressive, but he had allowed 3 or more goals in each of his previous 7 outings. He was 5-2-0 with a 3.71 GAA and .863 SV% in February, easily his worst GAA and SV% in any month this season.

Hart was paddled by the Montreal Canadiens, of all teams, allowing 5 goals on 31 shots in a home loss last Friday. He has dropped 4 straight starts, and Hart ended February with a 1-5-1 record, 3.23 GAA and .888 SV% in 7 starts.

While Shesterkin had been pretty giving in February, expect him to shut down the toothless Flyers attack. Hart received a total of 12 goals of support in his 7 starts in February, and it’s hard to imagine the Philly offense getting well Wednesday.

The OVER 6.5 (+115) is worth playing lightly.

Igor Shesterkin (16-4-2, 1.99 GAA, .939 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Carter Hart (7-11-4, 2.93 GAA, .912 SV%, 1 SO)

Shesterkin has made two starts in January, and he has turned aside all 75 shots he has faced for shutouts against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the San Jose Sharks. He has won three straight starts, and eight of his past nine outings.

Hart has coughed up three or more goals in each of his past three outings, going 0-3-0 with a 4.15 GAA and .876 SV%. He has one start against the Rangers this season, losing 4-1 at Madison Square Garden while allowing three goals on 27 shots.

The RANGERS -1.5 (+160) is a strong play against the Flyers, even on the road. New York picked up a 4-1 win last time these teams faced each other at MSG. The problem with the Flyers +1.5 (-210) is that Hart is ice-cold lately. He has coughed up 12 total goals across his past three starts, all losses. On the flip side, Shesterkin is red hot, and his offense has backed him with plenty of support.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (-105) is the play, mainly due to the presence of Shesterkin. The Under is 4-2 in his past six appearances, including the first game against the Flyers. The Under is also 5-0-1 in the past six games overall for New York, while going 20-6 in the past 26 games as a road favorite. The Under is also 5-2 in Philly’s past seven games overall. Shesterkin returned Thursday in the front end of the back-to-back after dealing with a three-week absence due to a groin injury. He made 41 saves on 44 shots in the 8-3 blowout win, and he didn’t show any ill effects of the ailment. He’ll be right back in there looking for a fourth straight victory overall.

Elliott was called upon early in the second period against the Rangers after Carter Hart was roughed up for five goals on 11 shots, looking more like a beer league goalie than a professional.

Elliott will be tasked with trying to cool off a Rangers offense that has scored three or more goals in all five meetings with the Flyers this season while averaging 8.5 goals per game across the past two meetings.

The Flyers +1.5 (-250) are just too expensive on the puck line. Just roll with the home side straight up rather than fiddling with the puck line. PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)
