The New York Islanders (31-27-9) continue their five-game road trip when they face the New Jersey Devils (24-38-6) Sunday at Prudential Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Islanders vs. Devils odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.
The Islanders are coming off a 3-0 shutout victory over the New York Rangers Friday and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. NYI has won three outings in a row, and C Mathew Barzal has 2 points in each game.
The Devils were shellshocked 7-6 by the Florida Panthers in overtime Saturday. Jersey was up 6-2 heading into the third period but the Panthers roared back. C Jack Hughes has goals in four contests in a row and has lit the lamp in five of his last six games.

Islanders at Devils projected goalies
Semyon Varlamov (9-13-2, 2.68 GAA, .919 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Nico Daws (8-9-0, 3.27 GAA, .894 SV%)
Starting G Ilya Sorokin is questionable with an upper-body injury, and Varlamov has worked overtime this week filling in, including wins over the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday (4-3) and Thursday (5-2) and the Rangers Friday (3-0). He stopped 99 of 104 shots in the three victories.
Daws has lost three of his last four games, and he was pulled in the second period after allowing 5 goals to the Boston Bruins Thursday. He went 5-8 with a 3.57 GAA in March.

Islanders at Devils odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Islanders 3, Devils 1
Money line
The Islanders are 6-1 in their last seven games with a day of rest, are 6-2 in their last eight in New Jersey and 26-9 in the series in the last 35 overall.
The real key is they shut out the Rangers on the back end of a back-to-back Friday. New York is right on the edge of my price point, and we’ll roll with the ISLANDERS (-150).
Against the spread
Both teams are okay on the puck line with the Isles 31-36 and Jersey 32-36 for the season. There is no value in taking New Jersey +1.5 (-220).
The Islanders have nailed it in six of their last seven wins. With New Jersey on the back end of this back-to-back and having to deal with the Panthers’ fierce attack yesterday, we’ll lean ISLANDERS -1.5 (+165).
Over/Under
Both of these teams have “Under” offenses with New York ranked 24th with 2.8 goals per game and New Jersey 17th at 3.0 goals per game. The Under is 5-0 in the last five between these two in Jersey.
There is some traction for the Over as it’s 8-1 in the last nine the Isles are favored on the road and 9-2-1 in their last 12 as favorites. The Under is enticing, but I’m going to steer clear of it and maybe reassess for a live bet during the first intermission. PASS.
