Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Brooklyn Nets (43-21) travel to meet the Milwaukee Bucks (39-24) Sunday at FiServ Forum for the first game of a two-game set. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Nets-Bucks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets are coming off a 128-109 setback at home against the Portland Trail Blazers Friday, snapping a four-game win and cover streak.

The 128 points allowed at home were their most given up at Barclays Center since Jan. 10 when the Nets allowed 129 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 13-point loss.

The Bucks are coming off a 108-98 victory at the Chicago Bulls Friday. Milwaukee has alternated wins and losses in the past five games, and its’ just 4-4 SU/ATS across the past eight outings.

The Nets won the first head-to-head meeting vs. the Bucks this season 125-123 at home Jan. 18, covering as four-point underdogs as the Over comfortably connected.

Nets at Bucks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bucks 124, Nets 119

Money line (ML)

The BUCKS (-145) are the play on their home court, especially since Antetokounmpo was upgraded from questionable to probable due to his sprained right ankle. There is risk with this play as he could leave if he aggravates the injury or feels discomfort. However, if he is 100 percent, Milwaukee wins this one going away.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BUCKS -3 (-110) have covered four of their past six games overall, and they won a pair of showdowns with two covers against the Philadelphia 76ers at home April 22 and 24 in their most recent homestand.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 242.5 (-110) is the lean, as Milwaukee ranks No. 1 in the NBA with 119.3 PPG, and is second in 3-point percentage at 39.2%, while hitting 48.6% from the field to rank fourth in field-goal percentage. Defensively, the Bucks allow 113.0 PPG to rank 20th.

Brooklyn is No. 2 in the league with 118.8 PPG, and first in field-goal percentage at 49.3%. It’s 22nd in points allowed at 114.3 PPG, so this one should have plenty of end-to-end scoring.

Prediction

Bucks 136, Nets 104

Moneyline (ML)

The Bucks (-3334) beat the Nets (+1300) 117-97 in their only meeting before the regular season was put on pause. The Nets even had Allen, LeVert, SG Spencer Dinwiddie and PG Kyrie Irving available for that one. They don’t this time, and the final result will be much more skewed.

Brooklyn beat the Washington Wizards 118-110 Sunday with 34 points from LeVert and 27 from Harris. Without those two they’ll have nowhere near enough firepower to compete with a Bucks team looking to avenge a 120-116 loss to the Houston Rockets Sunday.

The Nets are preserving themselves in a scheduled loss for more meaningful games against teams closer to them in the standings in an effort to secure the eighth seed in the East. Eat the chalk and make some pennies on the BUCKS (-3334) if you must. They won’t lose.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The point spread of BUCKS -19 (-110) asks whether the Eastern Conference’s top seed will be able to win by at least 19 points. The easy answer is yes, and there’s no reason not to expect the final score to be a whole lot worse.

The Bucks are getting SG Pat Connaughton and PG Eric Bledsoe back in the lineup Tuesday. It’s not as though they needed any extra manpower, but it gives them a chance to see something closer to their full rotation ahead of the playoffs.

Back the Bucks in what is sure to be a blowout against the severely undermanned Nets.

Over/Under (O/U)

The low total projection of 229.5 is indicative of how BetMGM is viewing the lowly Nets. They certainly won’t contribute their share toward the total, but the Bucks can be expected to outperform their season average of 118.6 points per game.

Take the OVER 229.5 (-110).
