Through four games of 2023 and, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have one of the best rushing attacks in the county. The Huskers currently average 5.52 yards per rush and 234.8 yards per game.
This weekend, they’ll be facing off against one of the best-rushing defenses in the country in Michigan. The Wolverines are currently ranked 12th in the country, surrendering only 2.76 yards per rush and 80 rushing yards a game.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh talked about the value of having a solid run game and the problems it could cause the Wolverines on Saturday.
It’s a great formula, it’s a great formula. Stopping the run and being able to run the ball is a winning formula in football. We’ve just got to play good. It will be a game of blocking, tackling, focusing on fundamentals, reads, getting off blocks, defeating blocks, playing the assignment, the right alignment in the right technique. A lot of focus on real football fundamentals and technique.
On top of Nebraska’s potent run game, their run defense currently stands as the best in the nation. The Huskers give up only 1.83 yards per rush and 46.2 yards per game.
