A Nebraska high school football player has accepted a Preferred Walk-On spot with the Cornhuskers.

A Nebraska high school football player has accepted a preferred walk-on spot with the Cornhuskers. Rowdy Bauer is a class of 2024 prospect out of Norfolk, Nebraska.

He made the announcement on social media.

First off, I would like to thank God for allowing me to achieve a lifelong dream. Next, I’d like to thank all my previous coaches, teammates, and trainers for helping me develop into the man and player I am today. To my family, thank you for the endless support and unmatched effort and time you have put into my dreams! Thank you to Coach Rhule, Coach Foley, and all of the Nebraska coaching staff for giving me this opportunity! With that being said I am announcing my commitment to the University of Nebraska!!

The running back/slot receiver ran for 719 yards and 12 touchdowns during his senior year. He also had 24 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns. His position with the Cornhuskers has yet to be determined.

A class of 2024 recruit has announced his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

A class of 2024 recruit announced his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Three-star edge rusher Jordan Ochoa announced on social media that he planned to continue his college career in Lincoln.

Ochoa went unsigned during the December signing period and was waiting for a major offer. He had visited the Lincoln campus on two separate occasions. As a senior at Castle View High, he recorded 61 tackles, 11.5 for loss, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

A report from HuskerOnline stated the Husker staff has focused on Ochoa playing the Jack linebacker in Tony White’s 3-3-5 defense. The recruit is also receiving interest from Colorado State.

Nebraska’s 2024 tight end signee Carter Nelson continues to impress on the all-star game circuit.

2024 Nebraska tight end signee Carter Nelson put together a strong performance at the All-American Game earlier this month and is now impressing at the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii.

On Wednesday, Nelson was named one of the top performers from day two of the Polynesian Bowl’s practices by Rivals. He was listed alongside Notre Dame wide receiver signee Logan Saldate, Arizona running back signee Jordan Washington, Utah quarterback signee Isaac Wilson, and UCLA wide receiver signee Kwazi Gilmer.

Nelson is ranked as a four-star recruit across the recruiting industry including both by 247Sports and Rivals as a top 100 prospect in the country. Nelson was the Huskers’ second-highest ranked prospect in the class only behind quarterback Dylan Raiola who is ranked by three of four services as a top-10 prospect.

A future Nebraska quarterback is making headlines on social media. Class of 2024 recruit Dylan Raiola was trending on Monday afternoon after his performance in the Polynesian Bowl long ball competition.

Raiola had throws of 72 and 70 yards, making him the only quarterback in the competition to break 70+ yards. Three future Huskers will be taking part in this year’s all-star game.

Those three participants are Carter Nelson, Dylan Raiola, and Preston Taumua. The game will see the top high school players in the country ‘gather in Hawaii to celebrate culture and play the game they love.’

The two teams will be coached by former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis and former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.

The Polynesian Bowl will occur on Friday, January 19, at 8:00 p.m. CT from Kunuiakea Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, live on NFL Network.

The service ranked Nebraska’s 2024 class as the sixth-best group in the Big Ten. That class holds 29 commitments with one five-star recruit, seven four-stars, and 13 three-stars.
