Nebraska Baseball agrees to contract extension with Will Bolt

Will Bolt took the Nebraska baseball job in 2020.

Nebraska baseball coach Will Bolt agreed to an extension on Tuesday for the program. The program’s social media officially announced the deal. According to a press release, the agreement runs through the 2029 season, and Bolt will receive an annual salary of $500,000.

Bolt and the program experienced success this past season. The team finished with a 40-22 record, which included a 16-8 record in the conference and an 18-8 mark at home. The Huskers won the Big Ten tournament for the first time in program history and made it to the Stillwater regional at the end of May.

Bolt has 137 wins in five seasons with the program, good for sixth all-time in the program’s history. Nebraska baseball has had nine draft picks under Bolt, with the most recent being catcher Josh Caron and pitcher Brett Sears. The latter was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the fourth round of this year’s draft, and Sears was taken in the seventh round by the Atlanta Braves.
