Final Four first look: Miami vs. UConn odds, lines and trends

Looking at Saturday’s Miami vs. UConn Final Four odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The 5th-seeded Miami Hurricanes (29-7) and 4th-seeded UConn Huskies (29-8) meet Saturday in a Final Four game at NRG Stadium in Houston. Tip is scheduled for approximately 8:49 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Miami vs. UConn odds from Tipico Sportsbook. Plus, check out our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Things were looking grim for the Hurricanes in Sunday’s 88-81 Elite 8 win over Texas at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. Miami found itself down 13 points with just under 13 minutes remaining before going on a 37-17 run to close out the game and clinch the Hurricanes’ 1st Final Four appearance.

Miami has covered all 4 of its tournament games, including wins over the No. 1 seed Houston Cougars and the 2nd-seeded Longhorns, denying both schools a chance to play in their home state at NRG Stadium.

The Over has cashed in 3 straight games for the Hurricanes, with Miami posting 85 or more points in each game. The 3-0 Over run ties a season high, and the streak of 85-plus points in 3 straight is also a season best.

UConn has recorded wins over Iona, Saint Mary’s, Arkansas and Gonzaga to punch its ticket to Houston, and like Miami, it has covered all 4 games in the tournament.

The Huskies have scored 82 or more points in 3 of the 4 outings in the tourney so far, splitting the Over-Under in 4 games in the Big Dance.

UConn F Adama Sanogo had his worst shooting performance of the tournament against Gonzaga, going just 3 of 11, but he still finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and a blcoked shot in 26 minutes. G Jordan Hawkins picked him up, going for 20 points with 6 rebounds, giving him 22.0 PPG in the last 2 outings.

Miami vs. UConn head-to-head

These teams last met on Nov. 24, 2019, on a neutral floor at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. UConn blasted Miami 80-55 to easily cover a 1.5-point number as the total went Under. Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga wasn’t the coach then, but Dan Hurley was roaming the sidelines for the Huskies.

This will be the 1st meeting between the schools in the NCAA Tournament.

Final Four first look: FAU vs. San Diego State odds, lines and trends

Looking at Saturday’s FAU vs. San Diego State Final Four odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The 9th-seeded FAU Owls (35-3) and 5-seed San Diego State Aztecs (31-6) meet Saturday in a Final Four game at NRG Stadium in Houston. Tip is scheduled for 6:09 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at FAU vs. San Diego State odds from Tipico Sportsbook. Plus, check out our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The improbable run of the Owls continued at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Owls had never won an NCAA Tournament game prior to March 17, and now they have won 4 straight to get to Houston.

FAU won a couple of nailbiters in NYC, topping 4th-seeded Tennessee 62-55  as a 4.5-point underdog, while edging 3rd-seeded Kansas State 79-76 as a 1-point ‘dog. The Over and Under alternated in the last 4 games for the Owls.

Florida Atlantic’s Johnell Davis has been a star in this tourney, racking up 17.3 points per game (PPG), 7.8 rebounds per game (RPG) and 3.3 assists per game (APG).

FAU was able to win despite 22 turnovers against K-State, something it will need to clean up before facing another defensive-minded team in San Diego State.

The Aztecs nipped 6th-seeded Creighton 57-56 as 2.5-point underdogs at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville Sunday. The game had somewhat of a controversial finish. A late foul call — which a lot of fans didn’t like — sent Aztecs G Darrion Trammell to the free-throw line with 1.2 seconds left. He missed the 1st free throw but made the 2nd for the 1-point lead. Then the following inbounds pass by Creighton went out of bounds at the other end, but time appeared to still be left. After a review, the game was declared final. Rough finish for the Bluejays, exultation for the Aztecs.

San Diego State has won and covered each of its 4 games in the NCAA Tournament, and it’s on an 8-game straight-up win streak, while covering each of the last 6 outings. The Under is on an even more amazing 7-0 run in the postseason and a 12-0 streak overall dating back to Feb. 15.

The Aztecs are allowing just 57.3 PPG through 4 games in the tournament.  San Diego State topped Creighton despite shooting just 38% (25 of 66) from the field, and 23% (3 of 13) from behind the arc.

FAU vs. San Diego State head-to-head

FAU and San Diego State have met twice before on the hardwood with the Aztecs owning a 2-0 series lead. The last matchup was way back on Dec. 28, 2002, a 91-75 win by San Diego State on its home court. That loss came the season after FAU’s only previous trip to the NCAA Tournament.
