NBA Rookie Ladder: Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski lands just outside top-5 in latest rookie rankings

The Golden State rookie landed just outside the top-5 in the latest NBA rookie rankings.

Throughout the Golden State Warriors’ up-and-down season, 2024 first-round pick Brandin Podziemski has provided a much-needed spark in Steve Kerr’s lineup. With injuries to Chris Paul and Gary Payton II, Podziemski has shined with an increased role alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in Golden State’s rotation.

The rookie out of Santa Clara is averaging 9.2 points on 45.7% shooting from the field, with 39.1% shooting from beyond the arc to go along with 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 24.4 minutes per game.

In the latest round of the NBA’s Kia Rookie Ladder from NBA.com’s Steve Aschburner, Podziemski is beginning to earn recognition for his impressive campaign. Podziemski landed just outside the top five at No. 6 in the set of rookie rankings. Aschburner ranked the young Golden State guard in front of top-five picks Scoot Henderson and Ausar Thompson.

Podziemski recently matched his career-high with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds and three assists in a homecoming performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. Podziemski’s effort against the Bucks was the third time this season he’s notched 20 or more points and his second double-double of the season.

Podziemski will have the chance to build on his solid rookie campaign on Wednesday when the Warriors host the Atlanta Hawks at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
