Warriors add Stanford’s Harrison Ingram in Rookie Wire’s early 2023 NBA mock draft

In Rookie Wire’s early 2023 NBA mock draft, the Warriors landed Stanford forward Harrison Ingram.

Although the 2022-23 NBA campaign has not yet kicked off, mock draft season is already rolling. Cody Taylor of Rookie Wire released an early look at the 2023 draft class with his first mock draft since the 2022 NBA draft in June.

It would be a surprise if the Golden State Warriors had a chance to select the 2023 class’s headliners, France Victor Wembayana or G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson. However, Rookie Wire’s latest mock gives a good look at the type of player the Warriors could add to their impressive stable of young prospects.

With the No. 29 overall pick in the first round, the Warriors landed reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Harrison Ingram out of Stanford in Rookie Wire’s new mock.

Via Rookie Wire:

Ingram, who was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season, averaged 10.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and three assists in 32 games. He was one of two true freshmen in the country (Paolo Banchero, Duke) to average at least 10 points, six rebounds and three assists. Ingram is an intriguing prospect given his size and court vision. He has been projected as a player that could handle the ball some at the next level and will look to take the next step as a sophomore.

Read Rookie Wire’s full mock draft here.

During his first season with the Cardinal, Ingram averaged 10.5 points on 38.8% shooting from the floor with 6.7 boards and 3 assists in 31.1 minutes per contest. In January against USC, Ingram notched a season-high 21 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor with five boards in an upset victory over the Trojans.

The 6-foot-8 forward tallied 15 or more points in 10 different games for Stanford as a freshman. Ingram also recorded six double-doubles during his first season on the farm.

Ingram is set to lead the Cardinal in the Pac-12 as a sophomore in 2022-23.

Warriors add Arizona’s Christian Koloko in The Ringer’s final NBA mock draft

In the final mock draft from The Ringer, the Golden State Warriors added a piece to their frontcourt at No. 28.

While the Golden State Warriors have been pushing through the postseason to the NBA Finals, mock draft season has been heating up across the basketball community.

With the offseason officially underway after the championship parade, it’s time to turn attention to the mock draft cycle to see what type of player the Warriors could land in the 2022 NBA draft. After making three lottery selections in the past two seasons, the Warriors will return to the latter end of the big board at pick No. 28.

With a roster mixed with All-Star caliber veterans and intriguing prospects, the Warriors could go in a bevy of different directions at No. 28 on Thursday night. The Warriors could trade the pick, or add another young piece of depth to their championship-tailored rotation.

In the final mock draft from The Ringer, Kevin O’Connell penciled in Arizona center Christian Koloko to the Warriors at No. 28.

Via The Ringer:

With James Wiseman’s stock in question after a slow start to his career, the Warriors could look at a big man late in the first round. Koloko is raw for his age, but with shot blocking skill and shooting potential he fits a similar role to the one the team envisioned for Wiseman.

To read O’Connell’s full mock with all the information on Koloko, including his pluses and minutes as a player, click here.

The 7-foot-1 center spent three seasons at Arizona, averaging 12.6 points on 63.5% shooting from the floor with 7.3 boards and 2.8 blocks in 25.4 minutes per game. Koloko registered a career-high against TCU in the 2022 NCAA tournament with 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the floor with 12 boards, three blocks and two assists in 40 minutes.

During his final season with the Wildcats, Koloko registered 10 double-double performances. Koloko also had 14 games with four or more blocks.

Rutgers basketball: Yahoo! Sports has Ron Harper as a second round pick

Ron Harper Jr. is taken in the second round of the latest NBA mock draft.

In the latest NBA mock draft from Yahoo! Sports, Rutgers basketball forward Ron Harper Jr. is off the board late in the second round.

The mock draft has Harper being taken No. 58 overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Krysten Peek writes about Harper and what he brings to Cleveland as a second-round pick:

“He’s not afraid of the big moment and has a decent first step off the wing to get past defenders. Harper averaged 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this past season.”

Harper will go down as one of the best players in Rutgers men’s basketball history. He has been a clutch player almost from the get-go and has grown tremendously into not just a leader but also as a player capable of making big shots in big moments.

[lawrence-related id=16670]

He has good length and is a tremendous defender. Harper brings some positional versatility as he can play at the ‘two’ or the ‘three’ but can also defend some bigger forwards as well.

2022 NBA mock drafts: Houston Rockets post-lottery pick projections

With the 2022 NBA draft lottery in the books and the Rockets set at No. 3 and No. 17 overall in the first round, here’s who the draft experts currently project to Houston at those slots.

With the 2022 NBA draft lottery officially in the books, the Houston Rockets are now set at No. 3 and No. 17 overall in the first round. The first pick is their own, won via Tuesday’s lottery, and the second is from Brooklyn as part of the blockbuster James Harden trade in January 2021.

If Houston keeps the No. 3 pick in the 2022 first round, they should have an opportunity on June 23 to draft one of the consensus top-three prospects: Gonzaga big Chet Holmgren, Duke forward Paolo Banchero, and Auburn forward Jabari Smith. Purdue guard Jaden Ivey and Kentucky wing Shaedon Sharpe may also work their way into the discussion.

However, a top-three pick could also prove valuable on the trade market, as Stone alluded to in his comments after Tuesday’s lottery.

If the Rockets stay in the draft, Stone indicated that individual player workouts over the coming weeks will be substantially less important than game footage on tape. Thus, the vast majority of the information that they will use in making those selections is already available.

With that in mind, as of May 17, here’s a look at who the various draft experts have going at No. 3 and No. 17 in their latest mock drafts.
