Prediction

Rockets 118, Spurs 115

Moneyline (ML)

The Rockets are clearly the better team in this matchup, but with Harden resting and Gordon out, they’re not at full strength. That shouldn’t matter much, however, against a weaker Spurs team that is also somewhat shorthanded.

The Spurs are just 1-4 straight up in their last five games against the Rockets, though they have gone 4-2 since the season’s restart. Houston is 4-1 since the restart, too, beating both the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers in that stretch.

The Rockets should take care of business Tuesday night even without Harden, so long as Westbrook suits up. Take the ROCKETS (+135) to win outright tonight.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The ROCKETS +3.5 (-110) are 4-1 ATS in their last five. San Antonio (-3.5, -110) is just 1-2 ATS in its last three games after starting 3-0, but the Spurs have kept games relatively close since the restart.

Still, I’m going with the ROCKETS +3.5 (-110) here simply because they’re playing good basketball.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over/Under is relatively high tonight, coming in at 237.5. The total has gone Under in six of the last nine Rockets games and in seven of their last nine games against the Spurs, the Under has come in.

Without Harden, the Rockets offense will understandably suffer some, especially with Gordon out, too. For that reason, I’m taking the UNDER 237.5 (-110).

Celtics vs. Grizzlies: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 10 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Celtics 120, Grizzlies 115

Moneyline (ML)

The CELTICS (-176) open this contest as favorites over the 8th-seeded Grizzlies (+145). Boston has played well of late, winning three of its last four games. Meanwhile, the same can’t be said about the Grizzlies. They’ve lost six of their last seven games and are in danger of losing their playoff spot.

While Memphis needs this game more, look for BOSTON (-176) to pull off a narrow win Tuesday.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The CELTICS -4 (-110) are just two-basket favorites over the Grizzlies. Boston has covered the spread in six of its last eight games against Memphis, and has won all eight meetings.

The Grizzlies (+4, -110) have struggled mightily against the spread of late, failing to cover in six of their last seven games. Considering this spread is only four points, expect BOSTON -4 (-110) to cover the spread and win by at least 5 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this contest is set at 224.5 points. The Celtics have scored at least 120 points in four of their last five games and they have the No. 9 scoring offense in the league.

The Grizzlies have struggled more on the offensive end, but expect them to score in the 110s, allowing the OVER 224.5 (-110) to hit in Orlando.

Suns vs. 76ers: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Suns 118, 76ers 108

Moneyline (ML)

The Suns (-358) continue to be red-hot in the NBA bubble and they are big favorites over the undermanned 76ers (+275) Tuesday afternoon. Phoenix has won all six of its games in the NBA restart and is on the verge of making the play-in tournament for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia has looked awful in its return to the court and the injuries are starting to mount up. While the Suns should have no problem winning this contest, PASS on this moneyline in favor of the point spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The SUNS -8 (-110) open this contest as huge favorites over the 76ers (+8, -110). What is so surprising about the Suns’ hot streak is that not only have they won all six of their games, but they have covered the spread in every contest, as well.

The 76ers have covered just once in their last five games and it could get worse without Simmons and Embiid for the foreseeable future. Take the Suns to cover this monster spread and win by at least 9 points Tuesday afternoon.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over/Under in this critical game for the Suns is set at 224.5 points. Philadelphia has allowed at least 120 points in three of their games in the bubble, while the Suns have allowed more than 113 points per game for the season.

Expect a lot of scoring in this game and for the OVER 224.5 (-110) to hit in Orlando.

  • Jarrett Allen (ankle) doubtful
  • PG Jamal Crawford (hamstring) out

Nets vs. Clippers: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Clippers 136, Nets 104

Moneyline (ML)

The Clippers (-1000) are the heaviest favorites on Sunday’s NBA slate, but they just can’t be bet at this price. The Nets (+625) pulled off a colossal upset of the Milwaukee Bucks in a 119-116 win last week. There’s no reason to go trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice, especially with this depleted Nets roster, but it’s all the incentive we need to PASS on this moneyline in favor of the spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The CLIPPERS -13 (-110) will need to win by 14 points for this bet to cash, but with SF Kawhi Leonard back in the lineup after Saturday’s maintenance day, there’s little reason not to expect them to win in a route.

They’re still motivated to secure the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference over the Denver Nuggets. The Nets +13 (-110) have clinched their postseason berth and can’t climb any higher than seventh in the East, so they have little to play for.

Expect the Clippers to put forth a full effort with a nearly full lineup in their third-to-last tuneup for the postseason. With the remaining games against the Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder this week, they’ll need to take care of business in their easiest remaining matchup.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 226.5 (-110) with the Clippers fully capable of handling the bulk of scoring against these under-manned Nets.

Brooklyn was handed a 149-115 loss by the Boston Celtics Wednesday, just for those who think this predicted score may be a little lopsided.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors betting odds and lines, with NBA betting picks, tips and best bets.

Grizzlies vs. Raptors: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Raptors 112, Grizzlies 102

Moneyline (ML)

The Raptors (-286) can be fully expected to bounce back from Friday’s ugly 122-100 loss to the rival Boston Celtics. The Grizzlies (+230) picked up their first win of the restart Friday by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-92. These two teams hadn’t met prior to the 2019-20 season being put on pause.

We’ll PASS on the moneyline in favor of proper value on the spread, as a $10 bet on the Raps to win outright would return a profit of just $3.50.

Toronto comfortably beat better teams in the Los Angeles Lakers (107-92), Miami Heat (107-103) and Orlando Magic (109-99) in its first three games of the restart. Memphis played its best basketball Friday after two of its four straight losses in the bubble were decided by nine or more points.

Also see:

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Grizzlies +6.5 (-110) have been led in scoring by SG Dillon Brooks in back-to-back games, but the absence of Jackson looms large against the RAPTORS -6.5 (-110) with Pascal Siakam starting at the four spot on the other side.

Siakam has been rather quiet in the restart and the Raps will certainly look to get him involved before the playoffs begin. He’s averaging 23.1 points per game for the season but hasn’t met that number yet in four games since returning to play.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Raptors to win by at least 7 points would return a profit of $9.09.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 222.5 (-110). The defending champions had played to three straight Unders before just topping the projected total Friday in the loss to the Celtics. The Grizzlies are missing a top scorer in Jackson.

They had already been held below 100 points in a game since coming back and will face the Raptors’ top-ranked and playoff-ready defense.

Spurs vs. Pelicans Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Pelicans 120, Spurs 116

Moneyline (ML)

The PELICANS (-150) are slight “home” favorites over the Spurs (+125) Sunday afternoon. New Orleans is coming off a double-digit win over the Washington Wizards, while the Spurs last played the Utah Jazz, and won by eight points.

Both teams desperately need this win to stay alive in the playoff hunt, but take the Pelicans here as they just have the better roster heading into this matchup.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The PELICANS -3 (-110) open this contest as one-basket favorites over the Spurs. Since the NBA restart, New Orleans has covered the spread in three of five games.

Meanwhile, San Antonio +3 (-110) is just 7-13 against the spread in its last 20 games. It’s hard to be confident in either side here as both teams have been inconsistent all year long, but with this spread sitting at only three points, take the Pelicans to win and cover.

Over/Under (O/U)

The point total for this Western Conference matchup is set at 238.5 points, which feels slightly high despite both teams having top-10 offenses this year.

Both the Spurs and Pelicans are averaging around 114 points per game this season, but the shooting on both sides has been very inconsistent in the NBA bubble. Both sides shoot a bunch of threes and if either team gets hot from long distance, that could impact this Over/Under.

With the point total being as high as it is, take the UNDER 238.5 (-110) to hit in this contest as the defensive intensity should be turned up a notch given the game’s importance.

Wizards vs. Thunder Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Thunder 117, Wizards 109

Moneyline (ML)

The Thunder (-455) are monster favorites over the Wizards (+350) Sunday afternoon and it’s not hard to see why. Washington has lost all five games in the NBA restart, and most of those losses have been by double-digits.

Oklahoma City, on the other hand, has gone 2-2 in the bubble with impressive wins over the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz. While the Thunder should win this game easily, there isn’t enough value to take the moneyline in this contest. PASS on this bet in favor of the point spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Thunder -9.5 (-110) are laying nine points against the WIZARDS +9.5 (-110) despite not having Adams in the lineup. OKC has been good against the spread of late, covering in four of its last six games.

While the Thunder were able to blow out the Lakers and Jazz, they couldn’t keep up with the Denver Nuggets or Memphis Grizzlies. They are one of the best teams in the NBA, but they can be inconsistent from night to night.

While Washington has gone just 1-4 against the spread in the NBA restart, 9.5 points are just too many for the Thunder to give. Expect Oklahoma City to win this game, but for Washington to find a way to cover late.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this Sunday afternoon matchup is set at 223.5 points. Washington has the 29th-ranked scoring defense in the NBA, allowing 119.4 points per night.

While the Thunder can be inconsistent on offense at times, they should have no problem approaching that number against the Wizards. Look for the OVER 223.5 (-110) to hit in this contest as Washington’s defense just won’t be able to contain PG Chris Paul and the Thunder.

Prediction

Heat 109, Suns 106

Moneyline (ML)

The Suns (-125) are actually favored against Miami (+105), after some late movement. The Heat are missing their best players and the Suns have not lost since the start of play in the bubble. They are the only undefeated team left.

Their current four-game winning streak is their longest since 2018. As good as they have been in Orlando, you can’t bet on that continuing. They are due for a letdown and Miami, even without Butler, plays tough Take the HEAT (+105).

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

After the Heat +1.5 (-110) were initially favored but the line moved to the Suns being favored at -1.5 (-110). The Suns have covered all four games in which they have played since the return to play in Orlando.

Miami is 2-2 ATS. They are 1-2 ATS when they are underdogs. The Suns are 1-0 ATS when favored. Betting on a Suns five-game winning streak feels too risky, even with Miami missing players. Take the HEAT +1.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The total is set at 225.5. Both teams are 2-2 O/U since restarting play. With Miami’s top players missing, they will have to play tough defense if they are to win. The Suns have been shooting the ball well but have not been a consistent shooting team all year. Take the UNDER 225.5 (-110).

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Lakers 112, Pacers 108

Moneyline (ML)

The Lakers (-223) are big moneyline favorites over the Pacers (+180) Saturday night, despite coming off two ugly losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. With Los Angeles already having the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference locked up, the team doesn’t have a ton to play for.; however, after those disappointing losses, they will look to get back on track against a good Indiana team.

While the Lakers should have no problem winning this contest, the odds aren’t good enough to bet on. Instead, PASS on this bet in favor of the spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Lakers -5.5 (-110) are favorites over the PACERS +5.5 (-110) Saturday evening. The Lakers have been awful against the spread of late, covering just once in their last six games.

Meanwhile, Indiana has played incredibly well lately, winning nine of their last 12 games. Against the spread, they’ve covered or pushed in six of their last seven games. With this spread being as big as it is, don’t be afraid to take the PACERS +5.5 (-110) and the points against the best team in the Western Conference.

Over/Under (O/U)

The projected total is set at 216.5. Take the OVER 216.5 (-110) with the injury questions entering this one affecting the defense of both teams more than the offense.

Prediction

Pelicans 114, Wizards 106

Moneyline (ML)

The Pelicans (-304) open this contest as big moneyline favorites over the Wizards (+240). Unfortunately, these have been two of the worst teams in the NBA restart, going a combined 1-7. The only win was when the Pelicans’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday.

While Washington has struggled to even stay close in games, the Pelicans just don’t inspire much confidence, either. Stay away from this moneyline as the Pelicans should win this game, but there just isn’t a lot of value here on either side.

PASS on the moneyline in favor of the point spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The PELICANS -7.5 (-110) open this contest as 7-point favorites over the Wizards. New Orleans has struggled mightily against the spread of late, covering just once in their last four games. Washington has been on a similar cold streak, failing to cover the spread in three of their last four games.

The Pelicans should be able to cover this spread and win by at least 8 points as their offense has been playing significantly better than the Wizards during the NBA restart. New Orleans is also a more talented team.

Take the PELICANS -7.5 (-110) Friday night, hoping they can get hot from 3-point range like they have a few times in the bubble.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this Western Conference matchup is set at 234.5, which feels slightly high for this contest considering both offenses have struggled in the NBA restart. In the four games of the NBA bubble, the Wizard have averaged just 105 points per game. The Pelicans have been slightly better, scoring 110 points per contest.

Both teams have struggled on the defensive end as well, but neither inspires a lot of confidence to score into the 120s. For that reason, bet the UNDER 234.5 (-110) for this contest Friday night.
