Moneyline (ML)

The NETS (-139) have enough firepower to easily get past the rival Knicks, even without Irving. The Knicks won’t have much of a home-court advantage and they enter Sunday off of a 111-104 loss to the San Antonio Spurs Saturday at MSG. The Nets haven’t played since winning 116-97 over the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Brooklyn is 2-5 on the road while New York is 3-5 at home. The Nets won 113-109 in the first meeting between the two this season in Brooklyn. Irving led the way with 26 points and five assists, but four other players scored in double figures for the Nets.

Against the Spread (ATS)

Get slightly better value with the NETS (-1.5, -121) on the spread. They’ll need to win by just two or more points, as they did in late October and in all seven of their victories on the season.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 213.5 (-106) as this game is missing the best player for either side in Irving. The Knicks are second-to-last in the league with an Over percentage of just 31.2. They’ve gone 5-11 against the projected totals and fall an average of 3.4 points shy of the number.

The Nets are 7-8 against the O/U but top the projection by 2.4 points on average. Brooklyn will pull away in the fourth quarter against the tired Knicks, but the separation will hinder the point total.

Moneyline (ML)

The WIZARDS (-278) are a safe choice Friday with both teams largely unaffected by injury and able to use their full lineups. Washington is coming off a 138-132 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday and is 2-3 at home. Charlotte is 3-5 on the road and is coming off consecutive losses to the Toronto Raptors (132-96) and Brooklyn Nets (101-91), both of which were on the road.

Both teams enter off a rest day, further allowing them to use their best players as much as possible. The Hornets’ average point differential of minus-7.9 ranks second-worst in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards are minus-1.4, but they score nearly 15 more points than the Hornets on average.

The Wiz are 7-4-1 against the O/U and top the projections by an average of 12.5 points per game.

Charlotte is 7-8 against the O/U while falling an average of 1.7 points shy of the number, but the Hornets are far from a defensive juggernaut (112.8 PPG allowed) and will need to play up to Washington’s pace.

The Bucks (-1000) enter as winners of five straight with the Trail Blazers (+625) dropping each of their last two. Milwaukee is 3-1 straight up at home and returns from a successful 3-0 road trip where it won each game by no fewer than eight points. Portland is 4-6 on the road (better than its 1-4 home record) but lost its last two games by a combined 35 points.

The Blazers had Wednesday off while the Bucks were taking care of the Atlanta Hawks (135-127). Even on the second half of a back-to-back, the Bucks won’t lose this game, but we’re not going to touch these odds.

The Blazers are 6-8 ATS overall, 5-5 ATS on the road. The Bucks are 7-7 overall and 2-2 at home. They are often favored by large amounts, but they cover by an average of two points. Portland falls an average of 3.5 points shy of the cover.

Milwaukee ranks first in the Eastern Conference and second in the NBA with an average point differential of plus-9.3, winning 119.6-110.3. Portland is outscored by 3.4 points on average with an average score of 115.3-111.9 in favor of the opposition.

The Lakers will win this game as the superior team in all areas of the floor, but the -589 odds are far too chalky with a $10 bet returning a profit of just $1.70. It’s not worth even the incredibly low risk.

The Lakers have won four straight games and are 7-1 at home for the season. Additionally, they last played Sunday in a 122-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The have the skill, home and rest advantage over a Thunder squad now 0-5 on the road following Monday’s loss.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The LAKERS (-10.5, -115) are 9-4 overall against the spread and 6-2 at home ATS. The Thunder are 8-5 overall and 3-2 on the road after covering Monday against the Clippers.

Los Angeles outscores its opponents 110.8-100.6 points per game with OKC losing by an average score of 105.8-105.6. The Thunder have played two back-to-backs so far this season and lost the second half each time.

The Clippers are laying -500 odds despite the potential absences of Leonard and Beverley. SF Paul George has scored 70 total points over his first two games in L.A. and is plenty capable of shouldering the load without his fellow stars.

Los Angeles is 7-1 straight up at home while OKC is still looking for its first road win in its fifth try. The Clippers have outscored the opposition 114.5-108.0 on average. The Thunder have a neutral point differential and play to an average scored of 107.1-107.1. Both teams were victorious their last time out, with the Clips beating the Atlanta Hawks 150-101 at home and the Thunder topping the Philadelphia 76ers 127-119 in overtime.

The home team will win this one whether or not Leonard and/or Beverley are active, but the -500 odds are far too chalky. Monitor this line as it will improve if the two players are ruled out, but the spread is the better play.

The Bulls are just 1-3 at home while the Knicks are 1-5 on the road. New York’s minus-10.1 average point differential is the worst in the NBA as it’s outscored 109.3-99.2 on average. The Bulls are minus-4.6 (110.0-105.4). Both teams come into Tuesday having lost their last game. The Knicks took a 108-87 loss at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday. The Bulls lost 117-94 at home to the Houston Rockets.

In a coin flip game between two bad teams such as this, it’s never a bad idea to chase the value. Back the KNICKS at +190 and make a profit of $19 on a $10 bet should New York come away with the outright road win.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

There’s still value on the KNICKS on the spread of +6.5 with -121 odds. The same $10 wager fetches an $8.26 return if they stay within six points in a loss or win outright.
