Zion Williamson says Lakers’ LeBron James is a 99 overall on NBA 2K22

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson would give Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James a 99 overall on NBA 2K22.

NBA 2K22 is now live for fans to play, and the one commonality every year that gets fans intrigued is how the player ratings stack up.

For the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James is the highest overall on the team, and across the league, as he boasts a 96 overall. Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry are the only other players with that same rating.

Similar to how James disagreed with the ratings allotted to Durant and Curry, saying they deserved a 99 instead, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans is on the same boat for James.

In an episode of “Just Playin’ with Taylor Rooks“, Williamson explained why he’d give James a 99 overall:

“Off respect and what he’s done for the game, I’d give LeBron a 99. What he’s done for the game, nobody else has done. So I give respect when it’s due.”

James is coming off a year where he averaged 25.0 points, 7.8 assists and 7.7 rebounds despite dealing with a high-grade ankle sprain later on in the year. He was a legit MVP candidate before that injury, which never got back to full strength even after he returned.

Now James will need to bounce back in the upcoming season. A healthy Anthony Davis is slated to be by his side along with newly acquired star Russell Westbrook.

Ball may not have been named the official cover athlete of 2K22, which included the likes of Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Candace Parker, but we’ll see if LaMelo graces the cover of NBA 2K in the future.

NBA 2K22 player ratings: How do the league’s biggest stars rank now?

New season, new game… LeBron and Steph still top?

Basketball, they say, is a strong link sport. Soccer, by contrast, is a weak link sport. In other words, results are often determined by momentary lapses and defensive breakdowns, so great teams with no weak links tend to win, rather than individual superstars accompanied by ten journeymen.

Cut to LeBron picking up rings for Miami, Cleveland, and the Lakers by sheer force of will. The superstars aren’t just the most exciting part of the sport; they are the strong links who decide the outcomes. They are the NBA. No shade intended, Jordan Clarkson.

Getting their stats right in NBA 2K matters, then. *Puts on best Al Pacino voice* Waddya got, 2K22?

New full set of Boston Celtics NBA 2K22 ratings released

Every Boston Celtic on the roster and then some were rated in NBA 2k22.

The Boston Celtics and 29 other teams around the NBA now know their overall ratings for NBA 2K22, the ever-popular NBA basketball video game franchise’s latest iteration.

While there are no current Celtics on the roster with a legitimate claim to superstardom in the NBA 2K world, it seems that several Boston players have improved, and one is on the cusp of reaching that lofty range north of a 90 rating. And while you can likely guess who that player may be (as well as who is just a few numbers behind), we would be remiss if we did not cover the gamut of the Celtics’ roster from franchise cornerstones to two way players.

Starting from the most humble to the brightest stars on the roster, let’s dive into this year’s 2K ratings for Boston (and if you are reading this, 2K developers, let’s be sure to get Yam Madar in the mix as well).

Philadelphia 76ers NBA 2K22 ratings rundown

NBA 2K22 is here and these are the Philadelphia 76ers’ new ratings for this year’s game, including a few surprises for the Sixers stars.

Each year the newest NBA 2k game drops and there’s some sort of controversy over ratings. Either a player does not like their three-point rating or their overall is too low. Rarely, if ever, does someone complain that they are too highly rated.

Last year Zion Williamson called the game’s Digital Marketing Director Ronnie Singh, also known as Ronnie2k, at the team’s media day when he was wrongly told his rating was an 81. His real rating was an 86 last year.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, the team has seen some real movement in terms of overall rating. Let’s break it down.

Gasol is one of the highest-rated players from Spain along with players like Ricky Rubio of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Juancho Hernangomez of the Boston Celtics.

So how did the rest of the roster fare? Let’s take a look:

Complete Houston Rockets ratings list for NBA 2K22 video game

At 83 overall, John Wall and Christian Wood are tied for the No. 49 rating among NBA players. Here’s how the full Houston roster stacks up.

Friday’s official release of the NBA 2K22 video game also involved the annual release of NBA 2K’s ratings for all players across the league. To determine virtual skills, players are rated on a 1-to-100 scale in numerous categories, including a frequently disputed overall rating.

Courtesy of HoopsHype, we also know how each player stacks up compared to others around the league. For example, the two highest-rated players on the 2021-22 Houston Rockets roster — point guard John Wall and center Christian Wood — each have an 83 overall rating. That’s tied for No. 49 overall and matches players such as Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Jaren Jackson, and Gordon Hayward.

From best to worst, here’s the initial ratings list for the Rockets:

  • John Wall, 83
  • Christian Wood, 83
  • Jalen Green, 79
  • Eric Gordon, 78
  • Jae’Sean Tate, 77
  • Kevin Porter Jr., 77
  • KJ Martin, 76
  • Daniel Theis, 76
  • David Nwaba, 76
  • DJ Augustin, 73
  • Alperen Sengun, 73
  • Danuel House Jr., 72
  • Usman Garuba, 72
  • Tyler Bey, 70
  • Josh Christopher, 70
  • Khyri Thomas, 69
  • Armoni Brooks, 69
  • Anthony Lamb, 68

Porter Jr. has already made it clear that he strongly disagrees with his 77 rating, noting he believes he should be in the 80s and ahead of rookies (including Green) who have yet to play in the NBA.

Depending on results in the upcoming 2021-22 season, these roster ratings could be adjusted in later NBA 2K updates.
