Kentucky hoops recruit Nate Ament continues to impress at Adidas 3SSB

Recruit Nate Ament continues to rise in the rankings with great performances.

Five-star forward Nate Ament is a highly-sought recruit in the 2025 class. He has offers from Kentucky, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Duke, UConn, Texas, North Carolina and many more.

The Highland Prep (VA) small forward stars for Team Loaded VA on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. He’s jumped five spots since the spring to No. 13 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.

National Basketball Director of 247 Sports Eric Bossi highly praises the six-foot-seven forward in his scouting report, saying that Ament reminds him of Michael Porter of the Denver Nuggets.

Ament is a mobile and skilled forward who has the skill and ball skills to play out on the wing where he has tremendous size. Or, he can be used as a small ball four man who opens up defenses and pulls other bigs away from the basket thanks to his ability to shoot from deep. There is a lot of projectable upside for Ament because of his overall size, athleticism and frame that he can easily grow into down the road.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Wildcats target has yet to confirm dates of any official visits for his Senior year, though he noted plans to check out Indiana and Virginia soon.

Following Ament’s statement performance, averaging 26 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks,  HS Top Recruits reported that the Tar Heels are one of five schools “recruiting him hardest” right now, along with UConn, Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas State.

Multiple Duke basketball players and recruiting targets participating in various offseason camps

Multiple Duke players, alums and recruiting targets participating in offseason camps.

The Duke Blue Devils basketball team has yet to start the season, but the summer is as pivotal as ever for players to improve their game. Whether it’s skill work, weight lifting, conditioning, or playing in actual games, this is the time to work on your craft.

For Duke, the team has moved to campus, practicing, working out, and bonding since June. With the calendar flip to July, things have changed slightly as this year’s roster members have been invited to various camps and player development sessions nationwide.

We documented in June that Cooper Flagg was selected as the only college player to be a part of the Select Team tasked with practicing with Team USA basketball as they prepare for the Olympics. We are now here to add that Tyrese Proctor and Sion James were invited to participate in the 2024 Chris Paul Elite Camp. In addition, freshmen wings Kon Knueppel and Isaiah Evans were selected to participate in Jayson Tatum’s Elite Camp.

There’s a Duke flavor at both camps. Paolo Banchero, a former Blue Devil, appeared at Paul’s and dominated the competition in some pickup games.

This is also an opportunity for Duke to use it as a mini-recruiting tool. Names like Nate Ament, Jalen Montonati, Nikolas Khamenia, Hudson Greer, Shelton Henderson, Acaden Lewis, and Brayden Burries are all receiving interest from Duke or have offers from Duke. It wouldn’t be farfetched to imagine the high schoolers chatting things up with Proctor, James, Knueppel, and Evans about Duke and what it feels like to be a Duke player.

Plus, it helps when Paolo Banchero and Jayson Tatum are there. It’s too early to tell, but maybe a year from now, we’ll look back and see how many commits for Duke were at these off-season camps.

Kentucky basketball target Nate Ament has an impressive performance

Recruit Nate Ament had a huge weekend in front of Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has already extended a scholarship offer to 2025 recruit Nate Ament. He has also gotten to watch him play in person, including a recent outing where the top 15 prospect had a huge game.

Over the weekend, Ament played at the DMV Live with Pope in attendance. The Wildcats coach would see the star recruit put on a show.

Ament averaged 28 points, 14 rebounds, and over 2 blocks per game through four games at the event, but on Friday, he had his biggest. He scored 41 points and had 27 rebounds and 6 blocks in that game, with Pope watching.

The 6’9″ power forward is a top ten player in the 2025 class according to 247sports. Pope will be battling most of the top programs in the country for his services, as he has offers from most of them already.

Ament would be a great fit on the Wildcats offense, and Pope would love to land him as the centerpiece of his 2025 class. Big Blue Nation would love to see him in Lexington as well.

Notre Dame basketball offers 2025 5-star Virginia power forward

The Irish enter the 5-stars recruitment

It was quite the day for 2025 Virginia power forward [autotag]Nate Ament[/autotag] on Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 9-inch and 185-pound star received three big time offers: Oregon, Kentucky and Notre Dame. Ament is ranked as one of the top players in the country, the No. 16 overall prospect and 5th ranked power forward according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

If head coach Micah Schrewsberry is able to convince Ament to join the Irish, it would be his biggest recruiting win since taking over of the program. The Irish currently don’t have a commitment in the 2025 class, so starting off with a 5-star would be a huge boost to the program.

Clearly it won’t be an easy recruiting win for Notre Dame, as they are contending with some of the best programs in the country. It’s still too early to know where Ament is leaning towards, especially since he has yet to take any official visits.

If one is to South Bend, you can bet the red carpet will be rolled out.

Kansas and Duke are among the basketball powerhouses who have also offered Ament so far. There are sure to be others to jump into his recruitment as well.

The list of players offered by Pope and Kentucky continues to grow. They are not shying away from the top talents in the class, even in Pope’s first official recruiting class. Big Blue Nation will anxiously await Ament’s decision, along with the other players Kentucky has offered.
