Every year, the start of the next NBA Draft cycle is marked by the Nike Hoops Summit. This season’s event carried extra anticipation, as four of the top five projected prospects were in attendance, with the only absence being Darryn Peterson, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class and a University of Kansas commit. Headlining the event were AJ DybantsaCam and Cayden Boozer (the twin sons of Carlos Boozer), and the still-uncommitted Nate Ament.

Also in attendance were the sons of three other former NBA players: Kiyan Anthony (Carmelo Anthony’s son), Tajh Ariza (Trevor Ariza’s son), and Dorian Hayes (Chuck Hayes’ son), who played for the Portland Generals.

Koa Peat (Team USA) was sidelined with an injury and replaced by Trey McKenney, while Dash Daniels (Team World) was replaced by Shon Abaev.

Other notable participants included Bogoljub Markovic, a 2025 NBA draft prospect who confirmed his draft entry to HoopsHype, and Italian prospect Dame Sarr, who made headlines after arriving at the Hoop Summit against FC Barcelona’s wishes.

HoopsHype was on the ground all week, covering practices and scrimmages leading up to Saturday’s game, where Team USA secured an exciting 124-114 overtime victory over the World Select Team.

Below, we break down the standout performers from both squads.

Kentucky recruiting target Nate Ament cuts his list to 11 schools

Kentucky is still an option for 2025 recruit Nate Ament after he narrowed down his list.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope is trying to put the finishing touches on his first real recruiting class for 2025. With Malachi Moreno, Jasper Johnson, and Acaden Lewis already in the fold, the Wildcats are trying to add one more big player, which could be Nate Ament.

Ament cut his list of schools down to 11 on Wednesday, and Kentucky is on that list. The Duke Blue Devils, Tennessee Volunteers, and Alabama Crimson Tide are among the other programs on the list as well.

The 6’9, 185 lb Ament is a power forward out of Virginia. He’s rated five stars by 247sports and is ranked as their number four overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

The Wildcats are working hard to land either Ament or Caleb Wilson from this class. Wilson is set to make a decision this month, and Ament could decide shortly after. Hopefully, Pope can land one of them.

A top 2025 recruit had some interesting comments about Kentucky basketball

Top ten 2025 recruit Nate Ament had some interesting things to say about Kentucky basketball.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has already put together a very good recruiting class for 2025, and has the makings of a strong roster for next season. There are also a few top recruits out there that the Wildcats would love to still get in Nate Ament and Caleb Wilson.

The Cats have been favored to land Wilson, but Ament is projected to go to Duke. Both are top ten forwards in the 2025 class.

Recently, Ament spoke to On3’s Jamie Shaw, and had a few comments that Big Blue Nation might find interesting.

First, he was complementary of Kentucky’s offense and their ability to score points. Then he was asked about playing alongside Caleb Wilson, and had this to say:

That guy is a winner. He’s won at every level he’s been at. I feel like with me playing with someone like Caleb Wilson, would benefit us both, growing together as freshmen.

It’s believed that landing one would end pursuit of the other, but that may not be the case. It’s likely still a longshot, but it’s a very nice idea to think about.

Both Wilson and Ament are set to make their decisions over the next few months. Kentucky fans will be watching closely.

Kentucky will get a visit from a five-star 2025 recruit

Top five 2025 forward Nate Ament will visit Kentucky basketball.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has already put together a very good recruiting class for 2025. Guards Acaden Lewis and Jasper Johnson are set to be joined by Malachi Moreno as Freshmen, and they are favored by some to land top ten recruit Caleb Wilson.

Now, it appears that they’re still in the running for another elite 2025 recruit. Forward Nate Ament will visit the Wildcats according to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi (subscription required).

Ament is a 6’9″, 185 lb power forward out of Virginia. He is rated five stars by 247sports and ranks as the number four overall player in the 2025 class. He’s the number two player at his position.

The star recruit told Biancardi:

I will take two visits in February: The North Carolina at Duke game and then Arizona at Kansas State. I’m going to try and squeeze in a Kentucky visit as well. I want to play for a coach and staff I can trust. A program’s plan for me and for other players they are recruiting is important. How they value me as a player and person is most important to me.

Cameron Boozer, 2025 Duke basketball commits officially sign with the Blue Devils

Duke officially inked its third number-one recruiting class of the Scheyer era with four signees, including star forward Cameron Boozer.

The Duke basketball program has relocated to Arizona for Friday’s massive matchup with the Wildcats. While all the focus centers on how the Blue Devils will conquer their first top-25 opponent of this young season, head coach [autotag]Jon Scheyer[/autotag] and the rest of this program’s staff will silently be able to let out a sigh of relief.

The early signing period has come, meaning commits from the class of 2025 are now eligible to sign their national letter of intent and officially pledge themselves to their schools for next year.

Duke inked four top prospects on Thursday, and the Blue Devils’ social media posted graphics and videos highlighting the signings of the Boozer twins, Shelton Henderson and Nikolas Khamenia.

Duke didn’t have a single commitment at the start of last month, but Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of Duke legend Carlos Boozer, got things rolling by hopping in the boat on October 11. In many ways, they were the biggest domino for Duke’s 2025 recruiting cycle as the Blue Devils would see their other two commitments come on board shortly after that in the following weeks.

Cameron, the nation’s second-ranked player in the 247Sports rankings, is often labeled the most complete high school player regardless of class. He will fit right into the shoes of Cooper Flagg, Zion Williamson, Paolo Banchero, and Jayson Tatum as an “alpha” freshman for Duke to essentially play around next year.

Cayden Boozer is a talented guard in his own right, but he’s less heralded than his twin brother. Cayden is a point guard, a position Duke will have its eye on all offseason, especially if Duke loses the services of Caleb Foster and Tyrese Proctor at the end of this season. Many believe Cayden could be a multi-year point guard like Tre Jones.

Shelton Henderson, another five-star player, is a high-ceiling wing who best projects as a two-way star. He can slash his way to the hoop and create for himself and others. Henderson is an excellent positional rebounder, and his defense is incredible. He’s also physically mature, and he uses his size well. The best way to describe Henderson is a higher-ceiling version of Sion James in every way.

Lastly, four-star combo forward Nikolas Khamenia officially joins the Blue Devils. He committed less than two weeks after the Boozers did, making him the third member of the class. Khamenia excels playing inside out and has an incredibly high basketball IQ, which allows him to be an elite distributor and playmaker from the wing. He is a perfect connective player because he also shoots the ball well. He can slot in several ways for Jon Scheyer next year, making creating lineups and matchups much easier.

Duke’s class is set to be the top class in the nation for the third time in the Scheyer era. The Blue Devils also paced the 2022 and 2024 recruiting rankings.

Duke isn’t finished, either. There is a real chance that Duke will add one more player to this class in the form of Nate Ament, 247Sports’ No. 4 overall prospect. Ament is another high-ceiling player who stands 6-foot-9 and can handle the ball and shoot at a tremendously high level. His best days of basketball are well in front of him.

Ament will decide after the season and will likely let the process play out until the high school all-star game circuit before committing.

Could another 5-star be heading to Notre Dame basketball’s 2025 class?

This would be another massive get for Shrewsberry

For a good portion of time, the Notre Dame men’s basketball 2025 recruiting class was empty.

During a late September run, the Irish got hot, first with in-state small forward Brady Koehler, then in-state combo guard Jalen Haralson, followed by New Hampshire small forward Ryder Frost and finishing off with Minnesota center Tommy Ahneman.

Head coach Micah Shrewsberry has assembled the No. 3 recruiting class of the cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings. Four commitments is a big group, but it seems like the Irish could be adding another.

Haralson is considered a 5-star prospect, as is Virginia power forward [autotag]Nate Ament[/autotag]. According to a report from Dushawn London, the 6-foot, 9-inch and 185-pound prospect will be taking an official visit to South Bend starting on November 9th.

This is a huge development, as Ament is ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Adding second 5-star player would be huge for Shrewsberry and the Irish, as we will be watching to see what transpires following the visit.

UNC basketball program visiting top 10 recruit

The UNC basketball program is on the road as Hubert Davis is visiting a five-star recruit.

With the open period beginning last week, North Carolina wasted no time in contacting and visiting recruits that they have on their board for future classes. And on Monday, Hubert Davis and his staff are making a visit to a five-star recruit.

Per Jamie Shaw of On3, the Tar Heels’ staff will be in Virginia to pay a visit to five-star forward Nate Ament. Shaw noted that it will be Davis and the rest of UNC’s staff making the visit, which is important.

It appears as if the Tar Heels are putting on the full-court press for the talented Ament, hoping to score a commitment down the line.

The Warrenton, Virginia native has a total of 29 offers in his recruitment, drawing interest from North Carolina, Duke, UConn, Florida State, Kansas, Tennessee, NC State, Virginia and Texas among others. There are a lot of big programs in his recruitment, which is no surprise.

In addition to UNC, Shaw also notes that Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes and Associate Head Coach Justin Gainey will also be in to see him on Monday.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Ament is ranked No. 7 nationally, the No. 4 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of Virginia per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

Ament is setting up visits this fall to programs and is hoping to get to UNC during those visits.

Duke basketball reportedly visits five-star 2025 forward Nate Ament

According to a Wednesday report from League Ready, the Blue Devils and seven other schools visited 2025 five-star Nate Ament.

The Duke basketball program tends to win over elite recruits, but head coach [autotag]Jon Scheyer[/autotag] might have his hands full trying to land a commitment from five-star 2025 forward Nate Ament.

According to a report from League Ready’s Sam Kayser, the Blue Devils visited the Virginia native at school on Wednesday. However, so did seven other teams, including Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Virginia, Kansas State, Notre Dame, and Georgetown.

One of the consensus 10 best players in his class, Ament currently sits seventh on 247Sports’ 2025 rankings. The Highland School product has been on the Blue Devils’ radar for quite a while, and he took an unofficial visit with the program back in September.

Duke may have gotten a bonus last month when Ament attended the Nike Academy, where former Blue Devil [autotag]Dereck Lively II[/autotag] worked out with some of the country’s best players. However, with no timetable or finalists announced, who knows how long Scheyer will need to wait before finding out if Ament will play at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Ament news came the same day as a separate report that Duke traveled to Riviera Preparatory School in Miami for some in-person scouting. The Blue Devils also hosted Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the twin sons of Duke legend Carlos Boozer and two top 2025 prospects, for a visit this weekend.

Notre Dame basketball visiting 2025 5-star power forward today

The Irish are battling a few top programs for his commitment

One of the nation’s best 2025 prospects will get a visit from Micah Schrewsberry and his Notre Dame basketball staff today according to a report by Jamie Shaw.

Virginia power forward [autotag]Nate Ament[/autotag] is a 5-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, coming in as the No. 13 overall player in the country.

He’s high on multiple teams recruiting boards, as Ament isn’t just getting a visit from the Irish. Seven other teams will be stopping by his school, a list that includes powerhouse programs Duke and Kansas.

Ament has already officially visited the Wildcats along with an upcoming trip to see Virginia’s campus. Until he sets a visit to South Bend, he’s looking more like a pipe dream than a realistic commitment in the future.
