Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Nashville Predators (28-18-4) travel to face the Florida Panthers (35-10-5) Tuesday at FLA Live Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we look at the Predators vs. Panthers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Preds limp into this game as losers of four outings in a row. They’ll be greeted by a Panthers team that cleans up at home. Florida is 23-3-0 on home ice as it looks to extend its Atlantic Division lead.

Nashville is a good team with an All-Star goalie, but it has been tough sledding in February. G Juuse Saros is 1-4-0 with a 3.49 GAA and an .892 save percentage across five February starts. The Panthers lead the NHL with 4.1 goals per game and 36.2 shots per game.

Predators at Panthers projected goalies

Juuse Saros (24-15-3, 2.49 GAA, .923 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Sergei Bobrovsky (26-4-3, 2.51 GAA, .919 SV%, 1 SO)

The All-Star Saros has been leaky during the four-game skid. He has allowed 15 goals during the stretch and has only seen 30 shots once. He’ll see 30 shots in this game, and it may get ugly.

Bobrovsky hasn’t stood on his head of late, but he hasn’t had to, either. He has allowed exactly 2 goals in each of the last three games on just under 23 shots per game. He was 2-1-1 with a 3.91 GAA in four games against the Preds last year.

Predators at Panthers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 5, Predators 2

Money line

The PANTHERS (-205) have won three games in a row and eight of their last 10. They are so good at home, and Nashville has struggled so mightily since the All-Star break. Consider watching the line closer to puck drop, but ultimately, the chalky price tag is worth a half-unit.

Against the spread

The PANTHERS -1.5 (+110) is where you’ll find your value in this game.

Florida has scored 4.3 goals per game over the last 10, and Bobrovsky has allowed 2 goals per game in his three contests in February. This is a matchup of two teams going in different directions, and the numbers lean to Florida.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (-115) may be the best bet on the board here. The Preds have managed to score 9 goals in their four-game losing skid, and Bobrovsky has had his lapses. Any time the Panthers are on the ice, the Over is in danger.

Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Nashville Predators (12-16-1) remain in the Sunshine State for a two-game set against the Florida Panthers (19-5-4) beginning with a 7 p.m. ET puck drop Thursday at BB&T Center. Below, we analyze the Predators-Panthers odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Nashville’s coming off a split two-game set against the defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. The Preds lost 6-3 Saturday but responded with a 4-1 victory Monday. They’re just 2-5-1 in March with one of those victories in a shootout and a loss in overtime.

The Panthers are one of the hottest teams in hockey. They’ve won four straight games and six of their last seven to take over top spot in the Central Division.

These teams last met in Nashville earlier this month with Florida winning both games by a combined score of 11-6. They split a two-gamer at BB&T Center in early February.

  • Money line: Predators +185 (bet $100 to win $185) | Panthers -225 (bet $225 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Predators +1.5 (-145) | Panthers -1.5 (+120)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Predators at Panthers: Projected starting goalies

Juuse Saros (5-5-0, .895 SV%, 3.10 GAA) vs. Sergei Bobrovsky (12-2-2, .905 SV%, 2.95 GAA)

Saros was activated from the injured reserve and should make his return from an upper-body injury. He last played March 2 and allowed 2 goals on 10 shots before leaving the game after the first period.

The highly-paid Bobrovsky had a disastrous start to his tenure with the Panthers, but he has strung together six straight wins and hasn’t lost in regulation since Feb. 20. He’s 2-0-1 against the Preds this season but with a 3.91 GAA and .887 SV%.

Predators at Panthers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Panthers 3, Predators 1

Money line (ML)

The Panthers (-225) are the preferred side on home ice based on the recent, and season-long, play of both teams but the -225 tag is too expensive. Florida leads the season series 3-1, however, two of those wins were decided by single-goal margins.

Bobrovsky has the edge in net against the rusty Saros, but it’s a narrow one. He allowed 3 and 4 goals in two of his past three victories.

Against the spread (ATS)

Back the PANTHERS -1.5 (+120) with a smaller bet than you’d normally place on the money line. It’s not a great profit margin based on the close results of the season series thus far, but four of the Preds’ six losses this month were by 2 or more goals.

Four of the Panthers’ last five wins were by multi-goal margins.

Over/Under (O/U)

Bet the UNDER 6 (+100) with the line seemingly expecting a shaky performance from Saros. He had allowed just a single goal in each of his last two full games prior to injury and had regained the starting role.

The season series is 3-1 against the O/U.

Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Nashville Predators (5-5-0) play the second contest in a two-game road set against the Florida Panthers (5-0-2) at BB&T Center Friday for a 7 p.m. ET puck drop. Below, we analyze the Predators-Panthers NHL odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Predators at Panthers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 3:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Predators -105 (bet $105 to win $100) | Panthers -110 (bet $110 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Predators +1.5 (-300) | Panthers -1.5 (+230)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Predators at Panthers: Projected starting goalies

Pekka Rinne (2-2-0, 2.97 GAA, .885 SV%) vs. Chris Driedger (2-0-1, 1.95 GAA, .937 SV%)

Rinne is likely to get the nod after G Juuse Saros started Thursday’s game. Saros allowed five goals on just 24 shots, and he was yanked after two periods. Rinne stopped all 12 shots he faced in the third period and into overtime, picking up the surprise victory.

Driedger is all but confirmed to start after G Sergei Bobrovsky allowed six goals on 41 shots in Thursday’s 6-5 OT loss. Driedger has allowed exactly two goals in each of his three outings so far this season, and he hasn’t lost in regulation while winning two of the starts.

Predators at Panthers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Panthers 3, Predators 2

Money line (ML)

The PANTHERS (-110) are a good bet to bounce back on home ice after Thursday’s thriller which saw them come up on the short end against the Predators. Florida is 8-3 in its past 11 games when working on no rest.

Against the spread (ATS)

The teams played a one-goal game Thursday, and you can expect another close battle when they run it back Friday. The Panthers -1.5 (+230) are a tempting play at this price, and might be worth a small-unit play, but it’s probably best to avoid since they couldn’t buy a shot against Rinne when he entered in relief Thursday. PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6 (-115) is a good play despite the fact there were 11 total goals Thursday. It’s the second matchup of the back-to-back, and the legs should be a little rubbery after having played less than 24 hours ago. The Under is 4-1 in Nashville’s past five when playing on no rest, too. Despite Thursday’s high-scoring affair, the Under is still 4-1-1 in the past six meetings, and 7-2-3 in the past 12 battles in Sunrise, Fla.

Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Florida Panthers (5-0-1) and Nashville Predators (4-5-0) play the first half of their back-to-back set in Sunrise, Fla., Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Predators-Panthers NHL odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Predators at Panthers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:08 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Predators +100 (bet $100 to win $100) | Panthers -115 (bet $115 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Predators +1.5 (-275) | Panthers -1.5 (+220)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Predators at Panthers: Projected starting goalies

Juuse Saros (3-3-0, .908 SV%, 2.82 GAA) vs. Sergei Bobrovsky (3-0-0, .894 SV%, 2.87 GAA)

Saros allowed 4 goals on 27 shots in a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning his last time out. It was the second time this season he has allowed 4 or more goals in a game in six outings. He stopped 29 of 30 shots against the Chicago Blackhawks the time before.

Bobrovsky is a perfect 3-0, and he has benefited from goal support. He’s coming off his best game of the season, albeit against the Detroit Red Wings, in stopping 25 of 27 shots on goal. It was the fewest goals he has allowed in a game this year.

Predators at Panthers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Predators 3, Panthers 2

Money line (ML)

The Predators and Panthers are ranked quite evenly in analytics such as total shots attempts (including blocked and missed shots) and scoring chances at 5-on-5 play. The Panthers are seventh in Corsi For percentage (53.30) and the Predators are 10th (52.11).

The Panthers’ power play has been one of their biggest strengths through six games. They have 7 goals on 19 opportunities and the special teams match up well against a Predators side with 13 power-play goals allowed in 37 shorthanded situations for a penalty-kill percentage of 64.86.

Bobrovsky certainly has the pedigree to stay on his correction course following an awful 2019-20 campaign, but Saros has looked sharper and been more active early in the season. Give the visitors the edge in the goaltending battle and back PREDATORS (+100) for the modest upset.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS on the spread. These teams are well-matched analytically, and unless the Predators get into penalty trouble, this should be a 1-goal game. There’s just no reason to lay the -275 on the Preds to keep it within 1 goal in a potential loss as a $10 bet would return a profit of just $3.64.

Over/Under (O/U)

Back the UNDER 5.5 (+100) as the more profitable side of the line at even-money. Bobrovsky was sharp his last time out and Saros has been a steady presence for Nashville. The Predators haven’t scored more than 3 goals in a game since their second outing of the season (Jan. 16).
