A former Michigan State quarterback made his NFL debut on Saturday.

Rocky Lombardi made his NFL debut in a preseason game for the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday afternoon. Lombardi is fighting for a spot on the Bengals roster. He completed four of eight passes for 33 yards in the game.

Lombardi played three seasons for the Spartans, the last in 2020. Following the shortened 2020 season, Lombardi transferred to Northern Illinois where he played three seasons for the Huskies.

A former Spartan quarterback will continue his football career at the next level

A former Spartan quarterback will continue his football career at the next level.

Rocky Lombardi has been selected by the Michigan Panthers in the United Football League Draft on Wednesday. Lombardi played three seasons for the Spartans from 2018 – 2020 before transferring to Northern Illinois where he also played three seasons.

Lombardi played in 22 games for the Spartans during his three years in East Lansing, Mich. He is most notably known for leading Michigan State to the massive upset win over rival Michigan in 2020.
