Nothing is certain at this point, but there is a potential path for Michigan State to reschedule its postponed game with Minnesota.
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo met with the media on Monday, and provided an update. The Golden Gophers were originally scheduled to come to the Breslin Center last Wednesday, but the game was postponed in the wake of last Monday’s on-campus shooting.
According to Matt Charboneau of The Detroit News, Izzo said there is still no clarity on rescheduling, but the best-case scenario he’s heard is that game could be made up next Thursday (March 2). In order for this to occur, however, Minnesota would have move its scheduled game with Rutgers to Tuesday of that week.
Below is further context on the potential rescheduling of this matchup from Charboneau and Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal:
The Rutgers-Minnesota game moving from Thursday to Tuesday sounds like the key. MSU-Nebraska can’t be moved to that Thursday because of the girls high school state tournament there.
