Betting line continues to move in Spartans favor vs. Wolverines

Michigan was once favored by more than three touchdowns over the Spartans, and now its down to a single score betting line

The experts in Vegas are continuing to show their support for the Spartans in Saturday’s rivalry matchup against the Wolverines.

The betting line between Michigan and Michigan State has moved a ton since it originally opened over the summer. In the past week, that line has moved even more.

In the summer when the betting line was originally released for the Michigan-Michigan State game, the Wolverines were favored by 24.5 points at some books. That line dropped to 9.5 last week before both teams played their most recent games — a Spartans win over Iowa and Wolverines loss at Illinois. And now, that betting line has been bet down to only Michigan -3.5 as of Wednesday night on FanDuel.

Both Michigan and Michigan State come into this rivalry matchup with 4-3 overall records and 2-2 marks in Big Ten play. The Spartans have played better as of late, with Michigan losing each of its last two games.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Wolverines could be without star CB in Saturday’s rivalry game vs. MSU

Michigan could be missing arguably its top defensive player in Saturday’s rivalry matchup against Michigan State

Michigan could be missing arguably its top defensive player in Saturday’s rivalry matchup against Michigan State.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said star cornerback Will Johnson is “questionable” to play in Saturday’s game vs. the Spartans. Moore made the comment on Monday night on “Inside Michigan Football.”

Johnson left last week’s game vs. Illinois and has missed time in other games this year as well. But when he has been on the field, he’s been arguably the best cornerback in all of college football. So the loss of Johnson certainly would impact this rivalry matchup.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

UM head coach Sherrone Moore provides update on starting QB vs. Spartans

Who will start at QB for the Wolverines in Saturday’s rivalry matchup against Michigan State

At this point in time, it’s unclear who will be the starting quarterback for Michigan on Saturday.

The Spartans head to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday night to renew their annual in-state rivalry with the Wolverines. Michigan has been struggling offensively this year — especially in the passing game — and it appears Michigan is unsure who will get the starting nod on Saturday.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore was asked about who would start at quarterback for the Wolverines, and he said “we’ll see.” Check out the video clip from Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press below:

Michigan has had three different starting quarterbacks across their seven games this year. Jack Tuttle is the most recent starter, but he struggled in Saturday’s loss against Illinois.

Michigan State and Michigan both come into this rivalry game with 4-3 overall records and 2-2 marks in Big Ten play. Michigan is a touchdown favorite in this matchup.

Kickoff from Michigan Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff states who he roots for in MSU-UM rivalry

Does Lions starting quarterback Jared Goff ride with the Spartans or Wolverines?

The starting quarterback of the Detroit Lions has weighed in on who he prefers in Michigan’s most intense in-state rivalry.

Jared Goff was recently asked on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast who he sided with when it comes to Michigan and Michigan State. And unfortunately, it’s not the good guys.

Goff said he typically has met more Michigan fans based on his location in the Metro Detroit area and thus has became an honorary Wolverines fan. He is from California and played his college ball for the Golden Bears of UC Berkeley.

Jonathan Smith on UM rivalry: ‘We’ll have our guys ready to go’

Jonathan Smith is new to the MSU-UM rivalry, but he already understands the importance of this matchup

Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith is new to the Spartans-Wolverines’ rivalry but he already understands the importance of that matchup.

Smith was asked about the annual in-state rivalry matchup during Big Ten Football Media Days, and he responded with an answer that should get Spartans excited. Here’s what Smith had to say:

“In-state rivalries are one of the best things about college football. When we get to that point, we’ll have our guys ready to go.”

Michigan has won the last two rivalry matchups, with this last year’s 49-0 victory over the Spartans’ being the largest margin in the rivalry’s history. Things should certainly be a lot closer this upcoming season, especially with Smith now at the helm for Michigan State.
