The Field of 68 podcast had that exact discussion by releasing a top 10 ranking of the top rivalries in all of college basketball and to no surprise the Spartans-Wolverines rivalry made the list. But how high did Michigan-Michigan State land in these rankings?

Michigan State will once again embrace the role of underdog on Tuesday night

Michigan State will once again embrace the role of underdog on Tuesday night.

Michigan State got the best of the Wolverines earlier this year, with a double-digit blowout victory at the Breslin Center. However, Tuesday’s tilt in Ann Arbor, Mich. will be a more difficult setting for the Spartans.

Michigan State is expected to beat their rivals Michigan on Saturday, according to Tipico.

The Spartans enter this game looking to bounce back from a loss earlier this week against Illinois. Michigan State has dropped two of their last three games, but still sits near the top of the Big Ten at 15-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

Michigan is on a three-game winning streak and will look to keep their momentum going against the Spartans. The Wolverines are 10-7 on the season, and looking to play their way back into the NCAA Tournament mix.

Tipoff from the Breslin Center is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. EST. The game can be seen on CBS.

One of the best rivalries in all of college basketball will be renewed on Saturday, with Michigan State traveling to the Crisler Center to take on Michigan.

The Spartans enter this rivalry matchup with wins in their last eight games, and boasting a perfect 4-0 record in Big Ten play. Michigan State is 13-2 overall on the season.

Michigan on the other hand isn’t having as much success this year despite the preseason top 10 ranking. The Wolverines are 7-6 on the year, and have dropped back-to-back games against UCF and Rutgers.
