Former Michigan State tight end Maliq Carr could be nearing a new home in Tampa.

Carr will be taking an official visit to USF this upcoming weekend, according to his X account. Carr entered the transfer portal last month but has yet to find a new home.

Carr spent the last three seasons at Michigan State after transferring from Purdue in 2021. In 34 career games at Michigan State, Carr recorded 54 receptions for 696 yards and five touchdowns.

Michigan State will be looking to Maliq Carr to have a breakout season in 2023, and he is apparently finally ready to accept his role in their offense.

The Lansing State Journal did a story on the Spartans’ top tight end this week, which focused on Carr’s growth within his position. A notable quote from the story was that “Maliq is finally at a point where he’s truly embracing that he’s a tight end.”

Carr has appeared in 24 games for Michigan State since transferring from Purdue during the 2021 offseason. He has recorded 24 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns.
