Michigan State football got some good news on the injury front on Thursday

Michigan State football got some good news on the injury front on Thursday.

On Thursday, ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel reported that Michigan State will get wide receiver Jaron Glover back for Saturday night’s matchup against Ohio State. Glover is one of the Spartans’ top wide receivers, and has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury.

Thamel also reported that star freshman Nick Marsh is a game-time decision for this matchup against the Buckeyes. Marsh experienced an injury two weeks ago Prairie View A&M that kept him out last week against Boston College.

Michigan State is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play. The Spartans lost last week at Boston College when missing both Marsh and Glover.

Kickoff between Michigan State and Ohio State is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be available on streaming on Peacock.

MSU Head Coach Jonathan Smith provides update on injured Spartan WRs

MSU head coach Jonathan Smith provides an update on injured wide receivers Nick Marsh, Jaron Glover and Antonio Gates Jr.

Michigan State football was without a trio of key wide receivers this past week and that could again be the case this week against Ohio State.

Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith met with the media for his weekly press conference on Monday, and as part of that session, he provided a brief update on the injured wide receivers. Michigan State was without Nick Marsh, Jaron Glover and Antonio Gates Jr. this past week at Boston College.

According to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press, Smith hopes to have an indication by “Thursday or Friday” if any of the three will be available this week against the Buckeyes. But at this time it’s uncertain.

Michigan State is a massive underdog in this week’s matchup with Ohio State. The Buckeyes are a more than three-touchdown favorite for Saturday’s game at Spartan Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be available to watch via streaming on Peacock.

Pair of young MSU WRs receive shout-out from Jonathan Smith on opening day of fall camp

See which two wide receivers got new head coach Jonathan Smith’s attention on day one of fall camp

A pair of young wide receivers have caught the attention of new head coach Jonathan Smith on day one of fall camp.

Smith met with the media following Tuesday’s opening practice of fall camp, and made note of two wide receivers in particular who stood out: Sophomore Jaron Glover and true freshman Nick Marsh. Smith noted both had really big summers and Glover in particular made some great catches today at practice.

Marsh enters this upcoming season as a highly-touted recruit that picked Michigan State over Penn State, Pitt and Kansas. He was ranked as the No. 22 wide receiver in the 2024 class and listed as a four-star prospect.

Glover is a redshirt sophomore that appeared in eight games this past season where he recorded 14 receptions for 261 yards.
