Smith held his weekly press conference on Monday, and was asked about who decides what uniform combinations Michigan State wears on game day. He confirmed that he makes the call.

The question from 247Sports’ reporter Stephen Brooks comes after some backlash on the lack of uniform variety from the Spartans. Over the past few years, Michigan State wore different helmets and uniforms each week, but this season, the Spartans are keeping it standard from week to week.

Hopefully, Michigan State football will break out some new different helmets soon — including my personal favorites that include the Gruff Sparty logo.

Michigan State football is going with one of its classic looks for Saturday’s matchup against Ohio State.

The Spartans will wear their standard green helmets, green jerseys and white pants for their matchup against Ohio State on Saturday. Michigan State announced the uniform selection via social media platform X on Wednesday.

Michigan State comes into this matchup looking to bounce back from a loss at Boston College last week. The Spartans are 3-1 on the year and 1-0 in Big Ten play.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be available only on streaming on Peacock.

Michigan State football will break out their all-white uniforms for this week’s matchup against Minnesota.

The Spartans will wear their white helmet, white jersey and white pants combination for Saturday’s road game at Minnesota. The white helmet will feature the traditional green Spartans logo on the side.

Kickoff from Minnesota is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Michigan State’s official social media account released a teaser clip on Tuesday night that suggests the team will wear their new “Shadows” black uniforms this week against Michigan. The tweet from the account can be seen below:

This offseason Michigan State unveiled new black alternate uniforms known as the “Shadows” uniform. These received a ton of excitement from the fanbase and it appears they’ll wear them for the first time ever against Michigan.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.

MSU Football’s Twitter account announced on Thursday that the Spartans will rock an all-white look in Saturday’s game against Iowa. The announcement is part of a new video series they’ve been doing each week this year, where that week’s game uniforms are unveiled.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Hawkeyes is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST on Saturday. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
