Michigan State basketball took care of business in Monday’s Maui Invitational first round matchup with Colorado.

The Spartans were the better team most of the night, cruising to a _-_ victory over the Buffalos to advance to the semifinals of this iconic tournament. Michigan State will face Memphis on Tuesday in the semifinals.

The first half was back-and-forth for most of the frame, but Michigan State was able to build up a double-digit lead at the break thanks to a strong finish. The Spartans ended the half on a 17-4 run, which resulted in a 38-25 lead at halftime.

Colorado hit a few shots right out of the break, but never got the game closer than seven points in the second half. Michigan State led by as many as 20 points in the second half.

The Michigan State-Colorado Maui Invitational first-round matchup will tipoff at approximately 5:45 p.m. ET. The Spartans’ game was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. ET but was pushed back due to the UConn-Memphis game going to overtime.

The matchup between the Spartans and Buffalos will be televised on ESPN2.

The winner of this matchup between Michigan State and Colorado will face Memphis at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The loser will face UConn at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
