Michigan State basketball will ride its winning streak into the holiday break following another convincing win on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans made relatively easy work of visiting Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon at the Breslin Center. Michigan State won by the final score of 87-69, with the Spartans leading by double-digits throughout the entire second half.

Michigan State was led in scoring by Coen Carr, who finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jaden Akins (13 points), Jeremy Fears (13 points) and Frankie Fidler (10 points) also hit double-digits in scoring in the win.

With the win, Michigan State improved to 10-2 overall on the year. This was the fifth straight victory for the Spartans.

Coen Carr did Coen Carr things during MSU Madness on Friday night.

Carr is arguably the best dunker in all of college basketball, so it was no surprise that he impressed again in that area on Friday. Carr was easily the top Spartan dunker in the event and further backed up his recent accolade as the Big Ten’s top dunker.

Carr threw down an impressive dunk from the free throw line where he put the ball between his legs. Even for Carr, it was quite the site to see.

Michigan State basketball tips off the season next week in an exhibition game against Northern Michigan on October 13. The Spartans will officially start the season on November 4 against Monmouth.

Michigan State basketball’s Coen Carr is considered the best dunker in the Big Ten, according to his peers.

Big Ten Basketball Media Days were held on Thursday, and the conference’s social media team put out a fun video of players saying who’s the best dunker in the league. To no surprise, Carr was the hands-down winner.

Carr enters his second season with the Spartans this year. He is looking to have a larger role for Michigan State, with expectations of him either starting or being one of the first players off the bench.

Michigan State officially opens the season on November 4 against Monmouth. The Spartans will play a pair of exhibition games before then, including a trip to Northern Michigan on October 13.

As Jim Comparoni of SpartanMag said in a X post, Coen Carr was doing Coen Carr things at the Moneyball Pro Am event last night.

The highflying Spartans forward put on an impressive show at the Moneyball Pro Am event on Tuesday night, scoring 33 points for Team Faygo. But arguably the most impressive part of his night was the monster alley-oop dunk he threw down.
