MSU Basketball vs. Baylor: Stream, broadcast info, prediction for Saturday

Check out all of the key game details for this matchup between the Spartans and Bears

It’s do-or-die time for Michigan State basketball.

The Spartans will head to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday looking to save their season in a non-conference matchup against the top 10 undefeated Baylor Bears. Michigan State enters this game off yet another disappointing loss last time out against Nebraska, and looking for a marquee win to get their season back on track.

Michigan State enters this matchup sitting at 4-5 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play. The Spartans’ brutal start to the season has many wondering if this preseason top-five team will even be able to make the NCAA Tournament this year.

Baylor, on the flip side, has looked like one of the best teams in the country all year long. The Bears hold a perfect 9-0 record on the year and rank nationally at No. 6.

Can Michigan State get their season back on track with a monster non-conference win on Saturday? Check out my prediction and all of the key game details for this matchup between the Spartans and Bears below:

REPORT: MSU, Baylor basketball to play at Little Caesars Arena in December

There were first rumblings, and now there is a report that Michigan State and Baylor are “finalizing an agreement” to play this upcoming season

There were first rumblings, and now there is a report that Michigan State and Baylor are “finalizing an agreement” to play this upcoming season.

College basketball insider Jon Rothstein is reporting that Michigan State and Baylor are putting the final touches on a deal to have these two elite programs meet at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit this year. The game will reportedly take place on Dec. 16.

On Monday night, Tony Paul of The Detroit News tweeted that he heard rumblings of this Michigan State-Baylor matchup being in the works. Rothstein doubled down on Tuesday stating he’s heard from multiple sources that the two teams are finalizing the deal.

Rothstein added that there is no timetable on when the game will be made official.

There are ‘rumblings’ of MSU basketball potentially playing Baylor in Detroit this season

Michigan State basketball could be adding another big-time matchup to its 2023-24 schedule

Michigan State basketball could be adding another big-time matchup to its 2023-24 schedule.

Tony Paul of The Detroit News tweeted on Monday evening that he’s hearing “rumblings that MSU hoops has had some discussions with Baylor about playing a game at Little Caesars Arena this season.” He added that nothing is official at this time but my assumption is this is something that is relatively close to happening if Paul is tweeting this out.

Michigan State’s full non-conference schedule for the upcoming season has yet to be released. But at this time we are aware of a few notable matchups already — neutral site games against Duke and Arizona, and a home tilt against Butler. Adding a game against Baylor would certainly be another fun matchup for fans and another great test for the Spartans — who will enter next year as a preseason top five team.
