Michigan State wrapped up its three-game Spain exhibition series with a hard-fought loss against KK FMP, a Serbian professional team that is in the top league in Serbia.

The Spartans trailed throughout most of the game but always kept themselves in striking distance for a potential comeback. Michigan State was led in scoring by Frankie Fidler (18 points) and Jaden Akins (16 points).

Michigan State finished the trip to Spain with a 2-1 record.

The Spartans will wrap up their time in Spain in one final exhibition matchup on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Kevin Knight of Spartan Rivals, Michigan State’s final exhibition game in Barcelona on Tuesday will start at 12 p.m. EST. The plan is for the Spartans to livestream the game on their Instagram account if the arena capabilities allow it.

Michigan State has won each of its first two exhibition games in Spain, including a nearly 50-point victory over the Valencia All-Stars on Sunday.

The Spartans are in Spain for a series of exhibition games and it looks like they’re also taking in the world’s most popular sport while overseas.

Michigan State Basketball’s official X account posted a picture on Saturday showing the team at a professional soccer match between Valencia CF and FC Barcelona. The Spartans are currently staying in Valencia and will be playing an exhibition matchup on Sunday.

The Spartans picked up a win over the Madrid All-Stars on Thursday to kick off their three-game exhibition series in Spain. Michigan State won 94-87.

Michigan State basketball opened its trip to Spain with a thrilling victory over the Madrid All-Stars on Thursday

Michigan State basketball opened its trip to Spain with a thrilling victory over the Madrid All-Stars.

The Spartans led most of the game but needed strong play from point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. in the final minutes to hold off a comeback attempt by the Madrid All-Stars. The final score was 94-87.

Michigan State led most of the first half, thanks to strong play from Xavier Booker. He hit several 3-point shots to lead the Spartans offensively in the opening frame, helping Michigan State hold a 49-40 advantage at the break.

The Madrid All-Stars responded in the third quarter, outscoring the Spartans by double-digits in the frame to take a 69-67 lead into the final quarter.

Michigan State didn’t let the Madrid All-Stars lead last for long in the fourth quarter. The Spartans quickly regained the lead and held on late for the victory.

Official stats from the game have not yet been released. Spartans Wire will update this post should any stats be provided.

Michigan State will play two more exhibition games in Spain over the next week. Next up is a matchup in Valencia on Sunday.
