Michigan State’s trip to the sunshine state next fall to take on the Miami (FL) Hurricanes is being considered one of the best non-conference games of the season in 2021.

Brett McMurphy of Stadium has already begun to look ahead to the next college football season, and by doing so he’s pointed out the best non-conference games of the year — which includes Michigan State at Miami (FL).

The Spartans-Hurricanes battle didn’t crack McMurphy’s top 10 but was still listed in the “Best of the Rest” section.

Michigan State at Miami is part of an impressive Big Ten slate on Sept. 18. McMurphy pointed out four other marquee non-conference games involving Big Ten teams taking place that weekend:

  • Nebraska at Oklahoma
  • Auburn at Penn State
  • Minnesota at Colorado
  • Cincinnati at Indiana

Looking ahead to Michigan State’s 2021 football schedule

It’s never too early to look ahead to the next football season. Check out this opponent-by-opponent breakdown for MSU’s 2021 schedule.

For me (and I’m sure many other Spartans fans) it’s never too early to look ahead to the next football season. That’s especially the case after the type of year we just experienced in 2020.

As of right now, the 2021 season for Michigan State is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 4 at Northwestern, and end on Nov. 27 against Maryland at Spartan Stadium. The Spartans currently have six home games and six road games on the 2021 slate, however, there is still a chance this schedule will be adjusted due to COVID-19’s effect on this past season/schedule.

Here is an early look ahead at each opponent on the Spartans’ 2021 schedule:
