Cole Kmet talks returning to Notre Dame to complete degree

Have you seen the former Irish tight end on campus lately?

[autotag]Cole Kmet[/autotag] made everyone proud recently when he graduated from Notre Dame. With three years as a Chicago Bears tight end, he decided the time was right to finish his political science degree. The Bears decided to get the inside scoop on what returning to student life was like, and he was happy to show off a bit of the campus as he was being interviewed:

It was nice to hear a side of Kmet that others might not get to see. How often do you hear an NFL player talk about analyzing poetry or having a full day of classes twice a week? Or how cool is it to hear him talk about his relationship with his baseball-playing brother, [autotag]Casey Kmet[/autotag]? Or how about taking in a meal at the Morris Inn?

You can tell that being back on campus was good for Kmet’s soul. He obviously loves everything about Notre Dame, and he knew it was best for him to bring the student part of his life to a proper close. Good on him.

Notre Dame Football Shares Summer Return Plan

As college football fans anxiously wait to see if there will be a season, some programs have revealed their return plans.

As college football fans anxiously wait to see if there will be a season, some programs have revealed their return plans. Notre Dame became the latest program to do that Wednesday. Pete Sampson of The Athletic outlined it in a pair of tweets:

While the fate of the 2020 season is unknown right now, it’s encouraging that Notre Dame has a plan in place. Everything mentioned is as safe as a college football program can hope for if it wants to play games this fall. It’s impossible to avoid physical contact in any major sport in this country, and this is uncharted territory for everybody.

There’s no question this will be a tough adjustment for the players. After all, when you can’t see your brothers for a week and a half after reporting for duty, it’s torture. But if this is the new normal, at least until we get a vaccine for COVID-19, sacrifices have to be made as our society continues to push towards more intimate things. The Irish only are one example of how things are now and the foreseeable future.
