Polls: Give your grades for Titans’ free-agent signings so far

Vote in our polls within the article to give your grade for the Titans’ free-agent signings thus far.

The Tennessee Titans have inked a total of eight free agents so far this offseason, with five of those players being from outside the organization.

The free agents Tennessee has re-signed were long snapper Morgan Cox, wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and defensive lineman Naquan Jones, with the NWI deal causing quite the stir.

As far as outside free agents go, the Titans have inked two offensive linemen in Andre Dillard and Daniel Brunskill, a pair of linebackers in Azeez Al-Shaair and Luke Gifford, and an edge rusher in Arden Key.

As each signing was reported, our Shaun Calderon slapped a grade on them, but now we want to hear what you think. Scroll down to vote in our polls and share the grade you think the Titans should get for each of their signings.

To keep it simple, grades go from A-F only, with no “+” or “-“. Also, we’ve included any articles we’ve written about the signings if you need more information on the players.

Contract details for LS Morgan Cox’s one-year deal with Titans

The details of Morgan Cox’s one-year pact with the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans recently re-signed long snapper Morgan Cox to a one-year deal, but at the time the move was announced, we didn’t have the specific details of the pact.

Now, thanks to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, we do. Cox’s one-year deal with the Titans is worth $1.317 million, with $1.002 million guaranteed. The deal also includes a signing bonus of $152,500.

The figure for Cox’s new deal is a well-deserved raise from 2022, when the 36-year-old long snapper signed for $1.272 million.

Since signing with the Titans in 2021, Cox has stabilized a position that saw issues the year prior. He also received his fifth-career Pro Bowl nod this past season, his first since coming to Nashville.

Cox is the first of Tennessee’s original 34 pending free agents who have been re-signed so far this offseason.

Expect plenty more moves to come in the next few days. The legal tampering period has already begun and the start of the new league year, when signings can be made official, unfolds on the 15th.

Grade for Titans re-signing long snapper Morgan Cox

Shaun Calderon shares his thoughts on the Titans’ decision to re-up with LS Morgan Cox.

The Tennessee Titans re-signed one of their pending free agents for the first time on Friday after they agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with long snapper Morgan Cox.

While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Cox doesn’t figure to cost much more than the $1.27 million he accounted for in 2022, which certainly won’t hamstring the cash-strapped Titans.

This may seem like a meaningless re-signing to the casual fan, but Cox has undeniably been one of the best at his position ever since he entered the league back in 2010.

Not only has Cox already won a Super Bowl as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, but he’s also made the Pro Bowl five separate times, including in 2022 with the Titans, and is a one-time first-team All-Pro.

Simply put, the Tennessee product is about as reliable as one can possibly be at their job, and he doesn’t cost much. As a result, it’s impossible to give this move anything other than a perfect grade.

Grade: A+

Titans agree to terms on contract extension with Morgan Cox

The Titans have re-upped with long snapper Morgan Cox.

For the first time this offseason, the Tennessee Titans have re-upped with one of their key pending free agents.

The team announced on Friday that it has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with long snapper Morgan Cox. The financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Cox made a shade over $1 million last year, so his extension figures to pay him a little more than that.

Originally brought in via free agency in 2021, Cox has not only stabilized a spot that was once an issue, he’s been one of the best in the business, something that’s been the case since his days with the Ravens.

In 2022, Cox was voted to his fifth Pro Bowl. He had previously played in four with Baltimore, and one of those seasons saw him get a first-team All-Pro nod.

Predicting the fates of Titans’ pending free agents: Offense

A look at the Titans’ pending free agents on offense and a prediction for what will happen with each.

After making predictions for the fates of the Tennessee Titans’ pending free agents on defense, we’re now moving to the offensive side of the ball and making predictions for Tennessee’s pending free agents on offense.

Tennessee has a grand total of 34 pending free agents, with 15 of them coming from the offense. We’ve also included pending free agents on special teams, which is why you’ll find 16 players on this list.

After a dreadful year on offense in 2022, the Titans need wholesale changes. That starts upfront on the offensive line, and extends to wide receiver, two positions Tennessee struggled mightily at last season.

While their starting signal-caller from 2022, Ryan Tannehill, is under contract, the Titans have to decide if they’re moving forward with the veteran, or if they’ll be making a change there, also.

For now, let’s just focus on the offensive players who are not under contract going into the 2023 offseason, and we’ll make a prediction for what happens with each.

Highlights of Titans from final day of 2023 Pro Bowl Games

All the highlights of Titans from the final day of the 2023 Pro Bowl Games.

The 2023 Pro Bowl Games concluded on Sunday and the four players representing the Tennessee Titans were on the losing side.

The Eli Manning-led NFC defeated the Peyton Manning-led AFC on the strength of two victories in the three flag football games on the final day Sunday, which gave the NFC the edge in cumulative score.

The AFC did get the better of the competition portion, winning five of the events, while also securing one of the flag football contests. You can check out more on the results right here.

The four Titans who took part included Derrick Henry, Ben Jones, Jeffery Simmons and Morgan Cox, all of whom were involved in multiple events during the week. You can check out the Titans highlights from Thursday here.

Some of the highlights from Sunday included Henry scoring a touchdown and almost running into Jones in the process, Big Jeff handling some big weights, and Cox playing hero in his event. Check it all out below.

Ben Jones overcomes Jeffery Simmons cheating to win pool floatie challenge

Big Jeff was on the struggle bus in the challenge and even tried to cheat.

We all know how good Tennessee Titans center Ben Jones is on the football field, but did you know he’s elite at inflating pool floaties?

While at the Pro Bowl Games this week, Jones squared off with teammates in the pool floatie challenge, and the veteran lineman made mince meat out of his competition.

Jones, long snapper Morgan Cox, running back Derrick Henry and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons all took part in the event, with the Titans center coming away with the easy victory.

But it wasn’t without some controversy, as Simmons snatched Jones’ floatie and tried to squeeze the air out of it in what was a hilarious exchange between the teammates.

While Cox and Jones were successful, it wasn’t as easy for Simmons and Henry, and especially for the former.

As someone who has blown up plenty of pool floaties for my kids over the years, I can feel the pain Henry and Simmons are going through. It’s a bit harder than it looks, and if you aren’t careful you can damn-near pass out.

After seeing the performances of Henry and Simmons, head coach Mike Vrabel must make improving their floatie skills a point of emphasis this offseason.
