In the premier Ligue 1 game of the weekend, Montpellier (2 wins, 2 losses, 3 draws) travels to take on Paris St. Germain (7-0-0). The match will kick off at 3 p.m. ET Saturday at Parc des Princes. Below, we preview the PSG vs. Montpellier odds and lines, and make our best Ligue 1 bets, picks and predictions.
Paris St. Germain, led by attacking trio F Kylian Mbappe, F Neymar and F Lionel Messi, struggled to get much going in a 2-1 win over FC Metz Wednesday. They are still the only team in Ligue 1 without a draw or loss; however, Messi won’t be available for Saturday’s match.
PSG is clearly atop the table with 21 points. Marseille is the second closest with 14 points through 6 matches.
Montpellier is 10th with nine points through seven games. It has scored the second-most goals in Ligue 1 with 15 but has given up 13. Its most impressive match was handing Lorient its only loss of the season.

Prediction
Paris St. Germain 3, Montpellier 1
Money line (ML)
PASS on Paris St. Germain -440 although it’s more than likely to win this match. PSG had some struggles against Metz but was still the dominant side and should’ve won by more than just 1 goal. Betting nearly four and a half times your potential return isn’t worth it against Montpellier.
What is worth it is to bet on BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (-122).
PSG has scored in every game and allowed its opponent to score in five. With Montpellier coming in with the second-best attack in the league, expect it to get on the board at least once.
Over/Under (O/U)
BET on the OVER 3.5 (-155). PSG averages almost 3 goals per game. Mbappe and Neymar have consistently scored for the French club and will be just fine without Messi.
Montpellier has averaged over 2 goals per game and allows almost 2 as well. Its slacking defense will open up a floodgate for PSG. Combine that with the attack, and expect a high-scoring match Saturday.
